[attr="class","iden"] [attr="class","title"]Identification Full Name: Durzo Mads Thrasher Aliases: Vice-Admiral Shirozake (Chum) | While some people might think he is called such for his friendly ways, those with any real knowledge or having ever met Durzo know that the name Chum is one to respect and in many cases, fear. It reflects Durzo's tendency for violence and remarks upon the fact that generally when Durzo fights, any waters nearby become chummed with the blood and meat of his enemies. Leviathan | A name that most of the pirates in the world recognize and use to scare rookie pirates. Durzo has earned this name for in the past eleven years of being part of the military he has more recorded sinkings in that short amount of time than any other Vice-Admiral in history. As such Durzo has been put on a status equal to the mythical sea monster capable of pulling ships to their death with little effort. Demon of the South Blue | Hailing from the South Blue, Durzo made quite a name for himself in that sea as a fearsome fighter and was known as one of the best mercenaries you could hire. It was because of this reputation that a Shichibukai paid to have Durzo serve as a subordinate. While his title of Shirozake has become more famous than this name, it is one that still carries incredible great weight behind it in the South Blue and is still known by some people in just about every other area. The Angel's Demon | While the name is not used often, a fair amount of Durzo's former commanders who failed at the challenge of keeping Durzo in check use it. Where a great many failed however, Miguel Hidalgo who is otherwise known as the Silver Hawk has gotten Durzo to fall in line (to a fair extent anyways) and as such the jaded commanders formed a joke of how the honorable angel like being tamed the bloodthirsty beast. The Pirate | This name is one that is spoken behind Durzo's back by his comrades or to his face if a superior feels like trying to talk down to him. It refers to Durzo's tendency to operate on the very edge of the law, several scandals surrounding him of supposed acts of piracy while part of the marines as well as his formerly being associated with a Shichibukai. Date of Birth: 07-23 Zodiac Sign: Leo Sexuality: Heterosexual Crew: The Carnifices of the Vae Victis Alignment: Lawful Evil Personal Jolly Roger: Link Durzo's jolly roger is used when he is captaining his own vessel. It depicts the jaws of a shark eating a crying skull with the two wreathed in black and white flame. This symbolizing Durzo's tendency to kill any pirates he comes across without hesitation or regret. It has gained a reputation and most pirates know the sight of it means they will receive no mercy. Additionally the symbol has been rumored to have been involved with dozens of civilian ship sinkings. [attr="class","appear"] [attr="class","title"]Appearance Height: 8'11'' Weight: 421 lbs. Hair Color: Dark Blue | Naturally spikes upwards Eye Color: All white with a large black pupil Attire: Although Durzo is a Vice Admiral in the Marines and was given a uniform to wear, he rarely if ever wears the garment calling the suit too restrictive. Instead Durzo generally wears a modified forehead protector which also covers the sides of his head as well. This forehead protector is engraved with four small lines with a large line dividing the two small lines on top from the two small lines on the bottom; the four smaller lines representing the four blues and the large line representing the Grand Line. Moving on, while it is not always worn, on days that Durzo feels a bit more cold or plans to go on shore for awhile, he'll wear a sleeveless shirt that is generally a darker shade of blue. While many people might think he is going with blue to represent the marines, the simple fact of the matter is that he just enjoys the color and it matches his pants. As mentioned previously, Durzo generally tends to wear a pair of dark blue trousers. Unlike other pants however, these do not have any pockets and are made from synthetic material which prevents them from rotting from constant exposure to the sea water that Durzo often finds himself in. Additionally, water is also why the pants lack pockets; or rather they lack them so that Durzo creates less drag when swimming underwater. The last thing to mention about his pants is that they are held up by a leather belt that is regularly treated to keep it from rotting from the sea water. Moving on, one can see that Durzo wears opened toed boots. By leaving the toes open, Durzo is able to make use of his webbed feet to aid in increasing his speed while in the water. While he is obviously not as fast as a Merman or even some other Fishmen, he is a good deal faster than regular humans due to this physical trait. Last, but not least is the immense cloak; which is more like a trench coat that Durzo wears. This cloak covers Durzo down to just above his feet, has wide sleeves, a high collar and overall is proofed against weather, but due to its large sleeves and wide open bottom allows air flow. Additionally, because of the looseness of this garb, if needed Durzo can quickly get it off himself for when he plans to dive in the water so as not to slow himself with extra drag and weight. With the primary color being a blue so dark it appears black, the cloak has an assortment of red clouds upon it outlined in white. While some people might assume the clouds are in the night's sky, if asked Durzo will tell them how when a man is killed underwater his blood will form a cloud of red in the otherwise blue/black background of the sea. Additionally the outfit is also a slight joke to acknowledge how different he is from most members of the Marine's, with the Marine's colors being blue and white while his outfit is red and black. Abnormalities: Naturally, as a Fishman Durzo has quite a few unique features. The first of these is his blue-gray skin which would keep him from passing as human even from a quick glance at a far distance. However, as most Fishmen this does not affect Durzo's personality; if anything he takes pride in his race calling himself a more deadly killer in the sea than any human could hope to be. Moving on to some of Durzo's other shark like traits, we see gills located just on his cheekbones. As all Fishmen, these are fully functional when in the water. Additionally the gills may open and close slightly whenever Durzo is agitated or very excited about something. Next up are the slightly elongated and webbed toes that stick out from his toeless boots. Naturally such a feature aids Durzo while swimming. While he is not as fast as Mermen or even some other Fishmen, he is faster than any human could hope to be in the water. Lastly, while Durzo's eyes would already appear unusual in human standards, looking even closer reveals an odd trait. Over Durzo's eyes is a thick membrane that is prevalent in all sharks which protects his actual eye from minor debris and protects the secondary membrane that flicks over the eye like a transparent eyelid. |

[attr="class","bg"] [attr="class","title"]Background Hailing from the South Blue, Durzo was born on an island several miles from Baterilla. The island Durzo was born on was fairly large, but suffered from a great deal of corruption upon the part of the Marines, Government and a fair amount of the civilian population as well. With his father never in the picture, when his mother passed away a few years later from a particularly aggressive fever Durzo was left to fend for himself. Within weeks the boy found himself forced from his home by Government officials under the guise of some legal loopholes and wound up in the streets along with a great deal of other orphans and children who preferred the streets to their homes. From this time into his adolescence Durzo did what he had to in order to survive. While other children on the streets took to picking pockets or breaking into people's homes to take what they need, Durzo took a much more simple and arguably less dangerous approach. Where the other children preyed on the unaware citizens, Durzo preyed on the other children. Being one of the few Fishmen on the island, he was naturally one of the strongest people in comparison to others in his age group and even as a kid was as strong as must of the adults. Additionally, he grew quickly and was a naturally large person, dwarfing other people his age. By the time he was fourteen he no longer had to steal to make a living, at least; he no longer had to steal from children anyways. At this point he had moved on to working with an criminal organization based on the Island, naturally his impressive strength and intimidating appearance allowed him to excel at being an enforcer for the organization. Anytime something needed destroyed or someone needed a heavy handed reminder to do as they were told, Durzo was sent in to complete the task. It was during his stay on this island as an enforcer for the criminal organization that Durzo studied Fishman karate from one of his fellow enforcers and bretheren, a hammerhead shark fishman by the name of Harwick. While the man only was only a level forty practitioner of the style, he taught Durzo the basics which set him on the road to studying the style more in depth. By the time he was twenty years old, Durzo was the strongest person on the island and had been taking care of jobs for his boss's boss all around the South Blue, earning the name Demon of the South Blue in the meantime. Additionally, because he was officially a mercenary Durzo was hired by the Marines several dozen times over the years even at that young age. It was just a month before his twenty-first birthday when he was called to meet the true head of the organization. While he had never known, the organization had actually been a subordinate group to one of the Shichibukai. In order to keep his current crew experienced the Shichibukai had developed several criminal organizations which allowed him to recruit people with vast combat experience who would also be willing to so less than legal or righteous acts upon his command. In this time Durzo continued to train in Fishman Karate and after two years in the service of the Shichibukai received the Shearer sword as a reward for single handedly taking down a pirate crew which had destroyed one of the Shichibukai's merchant ships. Upon receiving the blade Durzo quickly began to develop a style of fighting that incorporated the blade alongside his Fishman Karate techniques and his immense strength. As the years passed by, Durzo continued to work for the Shichibukai, eventually becoming what could be considered his left hand. While another subordinate acted as his adviser, Durzo had the job he had held most of his life in one way or another. He acted as the Shichibukai's primary enforcer. Durzo had killed and fought his way to the position and when he found himself finally there, he realized. . . just how boring it was. Naturally the Shichibukai believed very few jobs warranted his chief enforcer to take part, so Durzo found himself merely floating about with the Warlord on his ship hoping for something interesting to happen. Any random attack was a blessing to Durzo. Hell, even stopping at an island to resupply Durzo would pick fights just to have some entertainment and break up the monotony of the journey. It was on one of these stops, this time on Sabaody that Durzo met a young slave who spoke of high ideals of a world with no slavery. While Durzo did not personally agree with the boy's ideals he still found himself giving a grin at the amount of conviction the boy held when he spoke those words. "You have fire boy, keep it alive and never let anyone tell you what to believe. That is the only way to live." Eventually, Durzo got fed up with that particular lifestyle and left the Shichibukai's employ. Rather than join up with a pirate crew or start his own, Durzo decided to go where he believed the best perks resided. . . the Marines. While they were slightly hesitant of accepting his enlistment due to his dark reputation, his combat prowess alongside that denying him entrance would essentially prove to the public what a lie they were feeding them about the Shichibukai. While they were hesitant about it, they did allow Durzo to join the Marines. While his abilities warranted a position as at least a Rear Admiral, he was placed as a Captain and placed under command of a Vice-Admiral that was reputed to be extremely strict in hopes of keeping Durzo in line. These hopes however, quickly turned out to be extremely over optimistic on their part. While Durzo never once was caught going outside the boundaries of the law, he quickly formed a seemingly unending stream of reports stating he used unnecessary amounts of force, that he killed instead of capturing any criminal that got in his path and even some reports claiming he was involved in acts of extortion and piracy. While none of these reports had enough to damn him, the sheer amount of them made headquarters question his enrollment in the Marines. . . at least until the saw the results of his brutality first hand. Within a year of him being stationed in the West Blue they found a small drop in the percentage of individuals becoming pirates and a moderate decrease in pirate activities overall. So unable to get rid of him with these results, Durzo was placed under different commanders on a yearly, sometimes monthly basis. All the while he slowly worked up, got knocked back down and worked up the ranks again until he eventually became a Vice-Admiral. At this point Durzo was half-trusted by the Marines. He had proved himself a very capable tool, but was one that was heavily specialized. As such Durzo was only allowed to proceed on his own when a particular target was thought too dangerous to capture and essentially he would be sent to slaughter everyone. Otherwise Durzo is generally restrained to sailing in tandem with whoever his commanding officer was. Nearly three years ago however, Durzo who was one of the biggest "problem soldiers" for the Marines found an officer who was capable of keeping him in line, to a larger extent at least. That man was Admiral Miguel Hidalgo, or rather the slave boy Durzo had met on Sabaody with the fire in his heart. Upon meeting with the boy who had become a man at that point, Durzo struck an agreement with him, in return for his loyalty Miguel would let him do as he wished apart from his orders and would not try to tell him what to put his belief in. |
[attr="class","weapon"] [attr="class","title"]Weapons The Shearer sword is a blade unlike any other in existence in the fact that it has no one or two edges on it like most blades. Instead the sword is comprised of hundreds upon hundreds of Kairoseki scales that each hold an edge from their sides to the tip. As the name suggests, one does not slice with this sword, but rather shears away at their opponents by dragging the blade across them. Upon doing this the unbelievably sharp and diamond hard scale blades will slice off thin strips as they pass, with a single pass being able to take away flesh down to the bone. While devastating to flesh, this is not the extent of the blade's power. The blade holds within it the ability to manipulate water to a basic extent. Most notably being able to gather water from any environment and collect it within the center of the blade. With a special twisting of the handle the blade will then begin to secrete this water from underneath each of the scales. While it may be helpful to one needing a drink of fresh water, this ability can be turned deadly by a Fishman trained in Fishman Karate who can then turn this water into a weapon. For someone with such an ability they will find themselves able to swing the blade, much like they would swing their arm and turn the swarm of water droplets that fly off of the sword into a hail of projectiles equal to a bullet. The last ability to mention is Shearer's ability to vent all the water it currently is holding as a mass of mist. This is done by flipping open a small hidden vent concealed beneath the pommel of the blade. This mist is capable of covering a very large area with only a small amount of water; normally covering an area fifty feet by fifty feet and going up as high as ten feet. Lastly, the blade's deadliness is retained if not intensified even when fighting Devil Fruit users. With the entirety of the blade being made from Kairoseki it means that upon making contact with a Devil Fruit user, the opponent will feel all their strength leave them and become unable to make use of their ability, effectively nullifying their advantage in combat and in many cases removing them from combat all together. In summation, Durzo is able to put this terrifying blade to devastating effectiveness when used in conjunction with his fishman karate and his natural fishman strength that makes him twenty-five times stronger than a normal human on land multiplies that by a factor of four in the sea. While Durzo has learned the standard form of Fishman Karate, he has also dedicated a great deal of time to learning the techniques that give the style its true power and deadliness. Namely, he has learned how to manipulate water to a certain extent utilizing karate techniques. With this training Durzo is capable of turning water droplets into bullets, parting the a small strip of the sea itself with his sheer strength and create shock waves by manipulating water molecules within the air. [attr="class","racial"] [attr="class","title"]Racial Features
Furthermore it should be noted that like many of his people's abilities, its potency is greatly increased while in water with the fifty yard range drastically increasing up to roughly five hundred yards. Additionally because of the ability allowing Durzo to sense all electric fields and differentiate between them all, this has also allowed him to be a fairly skilled navigator. Like his shark brethren which use the ability to help with migrating he is capable of sensing the planet's magnetic field and using this to track his position and movements.
