[attr="class","surprise"] SERENDIPITY Akuma had many faults. He was a raw recruit who had only a week to adjust to the life of a Marine after being captured and torn away from his place of exile. But for all of his faults, the boy was very efficient in his tasks, so there was much hope for him yet.
”You have all violated the law multiple times. Reason has repeatedly failed to reach your minds and make you understand that what you are doing is wrong and illegal.” Cold, judgmental golden eyes gazed unerringly at the pirate. ”As such, I am here to administer justice.”
He turned his cold gaze towards the captain, who glared at him defiantly. ”You have all committed your sins under his banner. The rest of you can still be redeemed, but….” His tone turned ominous, though still a monotone. ”Justice must be served to the instigators of these crimes. Perhaps seeing the punishment will make the rest of you desist.”
“We’ll never turn our backs on our captain and our beliefs!” The tied-up pirates all chorused, causing the captain to beam and laugh.
“Hah! My boys are never going to abandon me, you stupid Marine!” The captain gloated.
An eerie gleam made its way into Miguel’s eyes as he put a hand on the captain’s head. Wordlessly, he activated Izanami and began pumping dangerous ultraviolet rays into the man’s body.
“AAAAARRGH!” The captain screamed and tried to thrash away as an excruciating burning pain began to slowly crawl its way from the part that the Marine was touching and down towards his face and everywhere else.
“CAPTAIN!” The captain’s crew could only watch in horror as the captain’s skin started to slowly turn black. Not the black of advanced Busoshoku haki control, but a dull, sickly, lifeless black that spread from the Marine’s hand down to the rest of the captain’s face at an horribly slow pace, the captain screaming all of the while.
“What the hell are you doing?!” One of them asked as they thrashed against their bonds.
”Administering justice and teaching you all a lesson.” Miguel’s indifferent tone easily carried over the pirate’s screams as the blackness had started crawling down the man’s throat.
The captain’s screams started to become garbled and choked as he found himself unable to feel anything in his face, now relying solely on his larynx to express his screams as the blackness ate away at his flesh. The ship surface imprisoning the captain became transparent to show the pirate’s clothed body. An instant later, even that faded away to reveal the man in all his naked ‘glory’ as Miguel manipulated the on the pirate’s clothes to pass through as if said clothes were not there, basically erasing it from the sight of everyone else.
“GAH!” And that was a worse punishment for the tied-up pirates, because not only do they have to look at their captain naked but they have to watch him be humiliated and be served some extremely twisted justice at this Marine’s hands. Some of them even envied the first mate since he was dead and therefore unable to see… this.
Soon enough, it became obvious as to why Miguel revealed the captain’s body to everyone on board. The captain’s screams finally died off, his larynx and throat finally falling victim to the devouring blackness spreading in his body. However, his face was still transfixed in an agonized scream, unable to do anything as the blackness spread down further to his chest and shoulders like some sort of living, horrific tattoo. He was like a statue now, if the statue was made by a particularly demented necromancer or lich of lore.
Right now most of the crew just wanted to break free, vomit on the floor, cry, or do any combination of the above.

000 "I can't see my end...but I can see yours." Well...this was something new for Akuma to ass to his list of Miguel's tricks.
With every last one of the pirates tied up and awake to watch the upcoming spectacle, it was no surprise that some soon began to scream out for and because of their captain, be it his nude body, the fact he was dying, or how his skin turned a disgusting black. Even Akuma had to admit...it was a disgusting sight. He was lucky there was no blood though. Even the earlier sight of the first mate's death had send a disgustingly pleasent chill down his spine. Curse his bloodlust...
"You certainly delivered justice Admiral." He was unsure what else to say. He was only alive thanks to this angel's mercy but...was what just happened truly justice? Killing men in such a horrific manor as their comrades watched? It was likely effective, the logic of his mind had no qualms with that, but something didn't seem to sit right in his gut. "You put on quite the performance..." Once again, what more could he say.
Side stepping some vomit spewing out from one of the captured pirates, his eyes tried not to dart away from the corpse too often. He believed that such a display wasn't just for the crew, but for him too...the purpose of such a display would have to be conjured up later. With a calm stance he would watch as the last slithers of life left the pirate captain. "I believe our work here is done..." He rose his hand to a salute. "Admiral." As much as he tried to work respect and salutes into his routine this one seemed especially forced, especialy when he turned his back to the angel, facing the ship of the pirates.
"Perhaps we should search their vessel before returning with those we captured?" CODED BY SYLVIE

[attr="class","surprise"] SERENDIPITY The pirates were speechless as the light finally faded from their captain’s eyes, cruelly robbed from him by the tall, dark figure with ice-cold eyes. They could do nothing but move their mouths soundlessly, tears building in their eyes as the man casually let go of the captain, whose black, rotten, and now-clothed corpse dropped lifelessly to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut as the admiral secretly reabsorbed the light holding the man prisoner.
Miguel couldn’t care less of what their opinions may be. His audience was just that – a group of people who have been pulled to watch his little show. Not even the conflicted feelings from his subordinate managed to budge him on his ruthless execution. He had seen and done worse in the service of the marines, and from what he had been informed from previous briefings by the agent, the captain and his crew had done more than enough to qualify for this mode of execution.
However, even if he had wanted to answer the obviously halfhearted compliments, he couldn’t because one of the pirates finally snapped out from their horrified shock.
“Y-you… monster! What the hell did you do to our captain?! Why the hell did you kill him over some stupid demonstration, you bastard Marine?! What have we done to deserve this?!” The pirate cried out as he thrashed against his bonds.
Miguel looked at them as if they had asked a very stupid question. ”Does the village of Carnation ring a bell? Or perhaps Johannesburg?” He watched the men twitch in their bonds. ”No? How about San Antonio? Painter’s Town? The territories of St. Pierre? Surely you all couldn’t have forgotten the places where you have systematically pillaged the village and raped a fair amount of people that most of you found attractive in some manner?”
“Then why not just kill all of us then? Isn’t that what your precious justice would have said?!” Another pirate piped up, only for the rest of them to glare at him like he was an idiot. Daring an admiral to kill them? Sheer stupidity.
”Because this is about learning as it is about justice, gentlemen.” Miguel replied calmly. ”Your captain and his second-in-command were the primary instigators of most of your crimes. As such, he is responsible for all of you. Because he is responsible for all of you, he shoulders responsibility for the sins that you all have committed in his name, for you do not blame the blade but the hand that wields it.”
He then gave them all a piercing stare. ”All of you remember your lessons while you stay in prison. Unlike your leaders, there is still a chance of redemption, even if it is in prison.”
He paused for a second. ”Unless of course, someone else in the crew wishes to share his fate?” The utterly banal way he stated that made it more horrifying than any heated threat ever could, causing all of the pirates to shake their heads vigorously.
”Good.” Miguel then finally turned his attention towards Akuma. ”You have my permission to search the ship, private. I will bring the prisoners back to the ship while you conduct your search.”
He then created a falcon out of solid light and imbued it with both types of his haki, making a very realistic bird with an extension of his sight and his haki sense. The bird then flew over to Akuma and simply watched him unblinkingly.
”Now go search.” He gestured to the ship. ”I shall be back promptly to pick you up.”

000 "I can't see my end...but I can see yours." "As you wish Admiral." Akuma stood tall with his hands behind his back in a stance of respect he had often seen the crew members of the ship take when called to stand at attention. He watched as the angel Miguel took the tied up pirates, leaving a rather realistic bird to keep an eye on the demon child. Though he was likely wrong, he took this as a sign that he still wasn't entirely trusted to be left alone. Only fair, afterall, this would have been the perfect chance for him to fly away if he had the mindset to. Nevertheless, with a strong flap of his wings, he rose up and boarded the pirate ship as the fake merchant ship likely began to fade behind him.
The search at first was uneventful. Gold below deck that the marines could claim, basic cutlery in the drawers of the kitchen. Personal belongings in the crew's quarters and some finer items in the captain's. Nothing worth any real mention overall...that is until something odd caught Akuma's eye.
He had left the fridge open, not caring much for the condition of the food the pirates had been eating, but as he passed back through the kitchen, he could see, vaguely, from the corner of his eye, an apple in the fridge began to change...it was odd, and hardly noticeable, bit the thin skin of the apple had become scaly and...blue? It was worth a closer look. Akuma drew closer to the fridge, the bird keeping an eye on him likely still watching over his shoulder. He took the now odd fruit, sniffing it curiously, and, with little thought or hindsight, he dug his fangs in, his eyes growing wide at the grotesque taste and tossing it away, spitting out what lingered on his tongue, and growing even more curious as to what the fruit had been as it shrivelled and died as soon as a chunk had been taken from it. [attr="class","surprise"] SERENDIPITY As soon as the boy flew towards the ship, Miguel turned away from the pirate ship and turned his gaze towards the captured pirates. Some of them glared hatefully at him while others still looked green in the face. A few more looked quiet and contemplative, not paying attention to anything or so it seemed.
He didn’t bother to converse with them and instead willed the ship to move through the water. It would have been unremarkable if it weren’t for the fact that no one was visibly sailing or steering the ship and that the ship was moving through the water far, far faster than a ship of its size should be able to without extreme amounts of modifications.
Those who were glaring hatefully at him snapped out of it as they were jolted from their positions by the sudden motion. Grumbling, they went to look for the people who were sailing the ship… only to find nothing, causing their jaws to drop.
“Wait wait… who the hell is sailing this ship?!” One of the pirates asked, looking very panicked as he did so. “Is there a Sea King underneath us or something?”
”No.” Miguel’s voice had the tiniest amount of a faraway tone in it, which the pirates couldn’t detect. He was well aware that he didn’t answer their question, but it didn’t matter since they were criminals and they didn’t need to know.
Besides, he was a bit preoccupied with a fascinating sight through his falcon’s eyes. Why, it appeared as if the private had just consumed a devil fruit. He knew that disgusted reaction to eating weird things anywhere. But the question was… what in the world did he just eat?
