Attire: Jack wears a simple black suit with a white shirt underneath, short brown gloves, and brown steel-toed shoes. Aside from that, he also wears a pair of black trousers held up by two brown belts. This tends to be his outfit for both casual and business ventures, but occasionally he'll only wear a dress shirt with the top buttons opened and looser, black pants. Also tends to wear a black fedora with either outfit.
Abnormalities: Jack's pupils are slitted. This has no effect on his vision.

As with many Cipher Pol agents, Jack was an orphan. He didn't remember his biological parents and he didn't want to- they had sold him to the World Government in order to cover a gambling debt. With no ties to the outside world, he was trained thoroughly by his retainer and given the skills that he would need to make his way into the world. Politics, manipulation, combat... he wasn't particular fond of any of it but that wasn't to say that he wasn't a fast learner. In fact, he learned so quickly that on his eighth birthday his retainer decided to give him the 'great' honor of being the first in the group of future CP9 members to take a life. Jack was never told what the man's crime was, nor did he ever see his face. They had set up a makeshift gallows for the prisoner and covered his face with a bag to make the affair as impersonal as possible. His retainer led him over to the level that would open the trap door underneath the man's feet before going to fasten the noose around his neck. The man cried for mercy and begged for forgiveness, but when signaled, Jack pulled the lever without hesitation. It was the first time in his short life that he could ever remember smiling.

The other trainers joking referred to Jack as 'The Hangman', which he found suited himself quite well. Upon 'graduating' from the training on his eighteenth birthday, the trainees were asked if they wanted to take a last name for themselves. But they had unknowingly already chosen it for him. 'Hangman'. It was a fairly eccentric name, but they let him keep it. With the training complete, Jack became a full member of Cipher Pol's Ninth Cell. Despite his distaste for combat, he has no qualms about the act of killing itself. As such, he acts as a true assassin, quickly striking down the target before slipping away undetected and avoiding any potential conflicts along the way. It didn't become apparent until later, but the WG's training didn't fully take effect. It was meant to turn the potential CP9 agents into ruthless killing machines who could not feel emotion. But Jack lacks the expected stoicism. Even he isn't entirely sure of his emotional state most of the time, nor is he fully in control of it. It has inhibited his job in the past, but as of yet, he has never failed an assignment.

• ⚔ Flintlock Pistol - A standard pistol. It only holds a single round, and Jack doesn't bother to carry additional ammo. As such, it's used for intimidation more than anything else.

• ★ Black Den Den Mushi - A type of Den Den Mushi used commonly by the Marines, as listening devices or "wiretaps", to intercept calls between pirates or other miscreants. They are actually a different type of species compared to other types of Den Den Mushi. They do not grow as they age and remain a small portable size for the rest of their lives. They enjoy eavesdropping, and dislike communicating with others. Jack's particular snail has thick, white eyebrows and a full white beard.
  
• ★ Lucky Strike Cigarettes - Although he carries a pack of cigarettes with him he doesn't often smoke. Instead, they're usually used as a 'peace offering' when greeting someone who does.
  
• ★ Lighter - Hard to use cigarettes without a lighter! Has a variety of uses, but there's nothing remarkable about it.

• ▶ Soru - Allows the user to move at extremely high speeds in order to avoid attacks, as well as to attack at higher speeds and with greater power. The principle of this move is to kick off the ground at least ten times in the blink of an eye. This is Jack's specialty, devoting more time to developing Soru than any other Rokushiki ability.
  
• ▶ Shigan - The Shigan is a close-quarter combat technique, in which the user pushes their finger into a certain target at a very high speed, leaving a wound similar to a bullet wound, making guns unnecessary.
• ▶ Mimicry - Jack is naturally talented in manipulating his voice for purposes of imitation. Useful for impersonating someone over a Den Den Mushi. He is also good at animal calls for the same reason.
  
• ▶ Expert CQC - As a member of CP9, Jack is very skilled in hand to hand combat. However, he's not very talented in the use of weapons such as swords or guns- the only weapons he can make efficient use of would be brass knuckles or a small knife, although he carries neither.
  
• ▶ Master Ventriloquist - A rather mundane skill in a world where where men are capable of parting a Galleon with a single blow, but Jack can throw his voice up to thirty five feet away without moving his mouth at all. Rather useful when paired with his talent for mimicry.
