Attire: Gajeel isn't necessarily flashy. He does not bathe, he does not care if his clothes get stained, but he does hold a certain air of "style". A black cloak usually covers his main articles of clothing but is discarded during battle to reveal a black robe with metallic rims, and a set of raven feathers coming off the right shoulder. Sleeveless and with white, baggy pants that tuck into his brown boots. Finger-less gloves also cover his hands with metallic strips over the knuckles.

Over the years his robe has become ragged from battle an exploration, while his cloak, usually discarded for battles is in perfect condition.

Gajeel grew up on the island of Cayuga in the West blue. Much like the "tribe" that inhabits the island he had no trust for the government or the pirates roaming the open sea. The only way he did not match those of his village was he was not content with peace. With a violent nature that roared in his soul from birth, this young man found himself breaking rules, and getting into all sorts of trouble even as a young boy. The other members of the tribe would describe in three simple words, aggressive, sly, and hard headed; set in his ways Gajeel was not one to bend to the will of others so easily.

As he grew older however, he stepped into his teen years it was at this age that he was shown to respect his elders. This respect came from a form of gratitude for those who had raised him, but also from learning to respect the hard way by taking heavy hits from those who where up above him. Even though he showed respect to those above, he was still eager to prove himself to test his merit in a battle with anyone who would take him on; it was due to this wild behavior that many in the village believed he did not fit in with the culture. At the end of it all, the elders would come together to formulate a plan that would allow Gajeel to be free, and fight as he please but he would not do so on their land.

When this plan came into affect, the elders would begin to tell Gajeel an empty tale that was structured with empty words, it was meant to fluff the young man's ego to inspire him to leave the Island. Despite the false tail the young warrior would take their words, and take the opportunity to leave the Island so that he could prove to the world, that not Pirates nor Marines held the title of strongest. It was on the day of his 20th birthday that he found himself at the shores of his homeland staring out to the great vast blue taking the first steps to carve his own legacy, and to satisfy the unquenchable hunger for battle that roared in his soul.

The two years that followed were filled with battle, he was left unchained, and unbound no one to filter his ego or to prevent him from challenging all that he came across. Unfortunately for the battle crazed warrior he never came across anyone who would pose a challenge to his skills, boredom would soon consume him. As a result he would hear of the bounties, the ones that had made a name for themselves by being law breakers with a new found flame for adventure he would take up any bounty he could. As a bounty hunter he aims not just to collect the prized money for their successful capture, but he aims to challenge those who are the most feared of targets, and who are known for their battle prowess. Gajeel stands at the top of the world now, or so he thinks, he has much more to climb, and many more names to carve into the notch of his belt but one day he will stand supreme above all else. Undefeated, and unstoppable.

• ▶ Bruiser - Very proficient in hand to hand combat, with a focus on putting as much power into a punch as he can, striking hard and fast, why still being able to take a punch pretty well with the right guard.
  
• ▶ Powerhouse - Whether through training or genes, Gajeel is a powerful man beyond normal limitations. This can be shown in his fighting, his ability to lift heavy objects, or take a punch without so much as flinching so long as his muscles brace for it.
