In a small, secluded village outside the range of human contact, Kiri grew up without parents. She didn't have a sad life because of it. Her village all pitched in to raise her, each giving her attention, care, and teaching her important lessons about life and nature. Because of this, Kiri never felt a loss from not having parents, nor from not knowing who they were; her learned concept of family became very fluid.

Because of this she also didn't have any strong attachments to the village as she grew into an adult. She became restless as she got older, wanting to explore more and more. Eventually she heard of all the wonderous sights of other islands and nations, and she began making plans to leave. She was old enough to do so, and not the child of any of the village members, so no one tried to stop her; but they did make sure she had provisions and was prepared for the journey.

She made her way to the shore of the island, farther than she'd ever travelled from the village before, and made her way along the sandy beaches until she reached a rather large village on the coast. It was the only Taur village to make trades and business with the rest of the world, and they kept the humans from exporing the rest of the island. Elated by this find, Kiri quickly procurred passage on a ship to another island and left her home to explore as much of the world as she could.

• ▷ Heightened Senses :: Thanks to her race, Kiri has senses that function at a much better capacity than a human. Sense of smell, sight, and hearing are all easily double that of a human's. Her sight also works just fine in the dark, though colors are greatly muted and distances are reduced.
  
• ▷ Strong but Lithe :: Despite the thin structure of her legs, most of Kiri's strength is located in them. This gives her greater speed than humans and many other taurs. It also gives her higher jump heights as well as powerful kicks.
  
• ▷ Agility :: Along with her speed, the smaller size of her hooves and thin legs gives Kiri enhanced agility. She can turn very sharply for her body size, and nearly stop on a dime. The type of surface she's on can greatly affect this though, and uneven surfaces make it much harder to be agile.
