From the Kitchen aboard the ship of the broken chopsticks, emanated a glorious smell. that seemed to permiate almost the entire ship. From within the kitchen could be heard the happy singing of the ship's new chef I don't care I'm still free, a short pause as he tossed a small match at the flambe which light ablaze immediately. you cant take the Sky from me I simply cannot contain my happiness, today. I'm alive, aboard a ship with a fully stoked kitchen, and they want me to be their cook! only thing that could make this better would be if the captain came in, now that would just make my day. aw but hell id be happy if anyone came in right now. The smell of the flambe began to spread from the pan, seeming to dance atop the previous scent. but you cant take the sky from me

Crawling along the hallway, Vi had been keeping herself busy by smoothing out the planks of the interior of the ship, giving the ship's interior the same treatment she had given the bilge deck. Violet was actually in a decent mood because she had found one of the fancy hats from the cook's collection and had donned it herself, working and sanding aswhile wearing a fedora. However the sound of fire and singing and smell of wonderful cooked food caused the mad shipwright to drop her tools and begin crawling to the kitchen, slightly drooling from the smell. Opening the door just a crack she saw the most glorious sight of them all in the kitchen.
A giant pillar of fire from a pan.
Standing up properly she wandered over to the cook, tipping her pilfered hat as she leaned on the cook's shoulder.
"That was pretty cook~, the whole fire-inna-pan trick~! What's it called~<3?"

"well she wasn't my first choice when it came to company, and normally I wouldn't be happy with the fact she had oviously pilfered that hat from my collection, but hell nothing could get me down today,I hope." turning slightly so as to have the little shipwright in his sight, wile keeping the all important dish within his vision range as well. He spoke with a wide grin across his face. its called a flambe, its pretty simple to do. It can be used to make the taste of certain dishes pop out more. Once his dish was finished Ed placed his finished creation on a plate, width a small side of rice, some decorative herbs, and a lemon wedge to prevent scurvy. "well doesn't this look lovely" he mussed to himself. Then turning to the shipwright, he offered the plate. Care for a bite? I can guarantee you it will be dammed good.

Taking the plate in both hands, Violet wandered over to a table and sat down, eyeing the meal that the cook had prepared. Poking it with a finger before tearing a chunk off, she bounced it from palm to palmas she mildly burned herself on the fresh dish before popping it into her mouth.
Alsmost as if hit by a bolt of lightning, the pale-skinned girl would jerk upright, slowly chewing it as her eyes widened. Shortly thereafter she let loose a squeal normally reserved for something massive exploding and began eating with gusto, at some point managing to stop long enough to blurt out a "It's so yummy~!"Devouring the rest of the meal, without any utensils, mind, Violet relaxed and let loose a content sigh/purr, eyeing the cook-hat-person, asking in a totally innocent way.
"Any way you could teach me how to flambe~<3?"

A vague sensation of pure and unprecedented dread crossed Edwards head, as she uttered that horrible sentence. He pushed it away thinking, those infamous last words. "whats the worse that could happen". Never one to turn away someone interested in learning. sure, I know a couple of simple dishes that you could try, without waiting for a response, he moved around the kitchen gathering all the necessary ingredients. Which were promptly set next to the stove. So, shall we get started? the events of that day will forever be known as the incidents resulting in rules #5 and and shortly thereafter 15 of "Things Violet is NEVER supposed to do". and or how the cook lost a hat.

Standing up Violet began shadowing the cook-hat-person, watching as the well-dressed mentor pulled out various diffrent things to prepare a dish with. Looking again to where the flamey-table-thingy was, Vi let a happy little grin cover her face. Looking up at the taller cook she began fingering the various thingies-that-somehow-made-dishes and fingered a pan, nodding eagerly.
"So how do we do this thingy-mabbober~? Do we start with the choppy-slicy part of the burny-flamey part~?"
Thumbing the hat she had 'borrowed' from the cook's stash. she smiled and looked around the kitchen, wondering what part they would start with.

Ignoring the repeated yells off "Stop before its too late" from his head. he taught the Shipwright the basics of how to use a knife for something other than hurting someone, and a stove without making it blow up. After she repeated his actions, and he was moderately confident she wouldn't cut her fingers off,or his for that matter. he helped her get everything ready. "Everything seemed fine, how things would turn out the way they did I will never know". Ok I think your ready to try it.

Having been a good student up to now, Violet had surprised both herself and Fishbones with her self control. While the start was rough (She had apparently tried to hold the slicey-cutty-thing by the wrong end, multiple times), she had slowly picked up the way it was supposed to be done, even the parts with throwing spices into the hot pan and everything. Now that she was unsupervised she began to make the meal herself. Everything with the preperation went off without a hitch, Vi slowly but confidently preparing everything for the actual cooking process.
Then things started going into the pan.
Tossing in some spices, the sauce, and tasting it, Vi apparently though it needed more kick. Having no difference in the term 'kick' between 'spicyness' and 'recoil', she quickly pulled out two of the bullets that she adorned her bandolier with, popping the casings open and dumping the contents into the pan. Had she put in the powder earlier, the flakes would have made for an interesting but harmless flambe. had she put it in later the pan would have been cool enough to not set off the podwer, ruining a meal but doing little else.
She dumped it in at the hottest point of the flambe.
The loose powder immediately burned, the flame suddenly doubling in size and increasing in intensity, so much so that the oil within the pan caught fire as well, billowing clouds of oil-smoke beginning to come from the pan as everything went to cook's hell. Vi meanwhile happily squealed with glee, holding onto the pan and relishing in the heat from the fire and only slightly annoyed by the smoke.
"This is how you do it, right~?!"

To the chefs great surprise the Shipwright was actually doing quite well. And nothing that was not suppose to burn was on fire. hell the little voice in his head had finally shut up. Then he closed his eyes for one second to savor the dishes scent. when he opened them his beloved kitchen was on fire, and filled with an acrid black smoke. Immediately recognizing that this was probably an oil fire, his head went to "were is the dammed pan lid?", cause as we all know you never try to put out an oil fire with water ever. As he frantically searched the kitchen for the pan lid. He saw that some of the kitchen had already caught fire, he bellowed out. Get something to put out the fires! He dint have time to care what she did next he just needed to find the lid to snuff the fire.

Seemingly reading the chef's darkest fears (but honestly just listening to her inner firebug), Violet began tossing in more and more powder until the chef called out to start putting out the fires. Looking about, Vi suddenly realized the rest of her wife was starting to catch alight as well.
Tossing the pan into the stove, Vi dashed out the kitchen with a 'wait here!' almost bowling over the confused captain in order to get her toolkit. Pulling out her emergency burney-kit, she ran back to the kitchen and opened it, tossing breaking a special vial and pouring the contents into the rags held within the bag. Tossing the a couple of the wet rags to the cook she shouted. "Cook-hat-person! Put the fire to beddy-bye! Wifey is burning!" Grabbing onto a large rag she practically jumped onto one of the fires, the specially treated ointment keeping the fire nice and smothered as Vi laid on top of it.

The cook began to put out as much of the fire as he could, as quickly as he could. Once the kitchen was under control, there came a quick " We tried to warn you" from the voices inside of his head, he responded with a short shut up from under his breath. he would have to leave that conversation for later. Then turning to the culprit, a wave of possible questions crossed his mind anywhere from "what the hell did you do?", to "Why in all hell's name did you ruin such a good dish?". He desided to keep thing nice and simple, and asked what did you put in there? "Though he could already guess what it was considering the smell. gunpowder can be used effectively to cook meat, its just not so safe for flambeing it. Pretty good for a char broiled BBQ, speaking of which, tomorrow's menu shall now include a short lesson on how to effectively use gunpowder to cook meat, that was gonna taste nice, now what could I use to complement or mask that taste, I could use that, but then it bee too much , or maybe that hmmm". The cook now lost in though, paid no mind to the Shipwrights response, his creative instincts having been set alight with the unexpectedly explosive flambe. He was far to engrossed in his own thoughts to notice that the hat he was currently wearing was smoldering. nor did he notice when it caught aflame, a twisted grin plastered across his face, when his thoughts seemed to have come up with a brilliant and possibly hazardous idea to balance the taste of his next dish.

Having put out the last of the fires, Violet immediately went into damage control, pulling out a few tools and poking the various spots of burned wood to inspect the damage. Hearing the cook-hat-person's question she answered with a quick "Boom-boom powdah, silly~!" She began picking away at the burned wood, cooking lesson abandoned in favor of her real calling: keeping her wifey in tippity-toppity shape. Noticing the hat-cook-guy was catching flame, she casually reached out and, with all the grace of a butler, dropped a cloth covered in the fire-retarding oil on top of the chef's head. Having done her duty, she returned to her work, nodding as she saw that nothing had been too heavily damaged.
Going into the halls of the ship she would go and get her tool bag, and proceed to repair the damage, getting sawduust and wood shavings into most of the pots and pans as she worked. Mostly on purpose, cause hat-cook-guy was funny when he got angry~.

Wile he was twirling the idea of tomorrow's lunch in his head. The chef had this strange feeling, like the room was getting hotter. He ignored it though, far to focused on his next dish to care if he lit on fire, not like it would be the first time anyway. He felt as wet rag fall on his hat, this immediately knocked him out of his train of thought, Vi its not nice to throw things at people he removed the oil soaked rag from his precious hat "that dam oil better wash off" he thought to himself, then he felt a strange draft on his head. "that's weird," he removed his hat to see what was going on."theres a hole in my hat" It dint sink in at first at first, after about a minute of looking a the gaping chared hole, that in turn seemed to stare intently back at him. theres a hole in my hat his voice little more than a whisper, theres a hole in my hat he repeated as if in a trance, after about another five minutes of this, it finally sunk in. THERES A HOLE IN MY HAT!
