Let it be known that Karyu did not like being on the deck of a ship captained by someone he did not know, but sometimes, it had become a necesity for him to overcome this minor fear.
For the past two years, karyu had been part of the Night hunters, a much more focused clan of bounty hunters that dedicate themselves to killing targets both marine and Pirate that posed a significant threat. Something Karyu took great delight in, especially with his ability to convince some of the other members that his own targets were their own. By now he had already begun working on eliminating key figures he believed had some hold on the slave trade, and in the hunting of shadetails in the north blue, but sadly, today, he had been issued a different task. To take on a supposedly "supernatural" beast of the sea.
Naturally, such a mission would not be issued for someone who, as far as the night hunters knew, could only use a sword and a chain as a weapon, with the addendum of his cybernetic eyes. These weren't exactly threatening weapons to a creature with scales harder than his own blade, and so, he had been issued a fellow hunter, Hector, as backup. The masked hunter had no idea who Hector was personally, but in his personal reconaisance of the other member, he had some images stored in his memory, and more accurate video in his playback storage.
Even now, with the ship they were supposed to protect in order to find this beast halfway through it's trip, Karyu sat against the mast, his legs crossed and his hands upon his knees as his eyes fell to a close ominously under his concealing mask, quietly muttering commands to his own cybernetics.
"Playback...March second. 1 year ago." A series of images would flash through his mind as he sat upon the deck, the true crew of the ship likely working around him, spreading whispers between eachothers as to the identity of the odd man who had chosen to rest at the very center of their ship's deck.
