The jacket is also peppered with buttons and pins that have no definite meaning. His blue Marine pants seem to have one too many pockets sewn on, which tend to be filled with everything from his harmonica, to the all important duck-tape. His shoes, when hes wearing them, are an old pair of sneakers that seem like they've seen better days. And lastly, to top it off, on his right forearm he wraps a chain, which he uses as his weapon and as a symbol of his personal rules and ideology. Abnormalities: none |

[attr="class","bg"] [attr="class","title"]Background Coal was raised in a small island in the North Blue. As a child, he could never stand still for more than five seconds. He was known as the town's trouble maker, and whenever something bad happened, he tended to be responsible, or at least in the middle of it. That is till his uncle Zeke came to visit. Coal's uncle, as it turned out, was a retired marine, and a dammed tough one at that. Zeke tried to talk Coal's parents into letting him take Coal, and mold him into a great marine! Of course, both his parents blatantly refused, at first. You see, Coal had gotten in trouble one too many times, and then he got into one little fight, and his mama got scared, and said "your moving with your uncle, so please take care." So his uncle Zeke took him away on his ship, and one session of hellish, unmentionable training later, he emerged an even more violent person. Apparently, he did not take kindly to the hellish, unmentionable training. Neither did his parents, whom were not all that happy with the uncle's job. On the plus side, Coal wasn't pulling any more pranks on the people of the little village. Though now he tended to get into a lot of fights with the neighborhood kids. Though one couldn't call those fights but more akin to a one-sided slaughter, seeing as Coal had a remarkable talent for beating down opposition. Eventually, Coal joined the Marines, since apparently another thing his uncle's horrible influence had done was to instill onto the boy a deep and unshakable sense of justice. Not really a care for laws, or hierarchy of command, or such things, but more like a deep sense of right and wrong, relative to Coal. Coal quickly distinguished himself as a skilled, and merciless enforcer of justice, as well as a thorn in the side of any superior officer, with a blatant disregard for the authority of his superiors. Though by some miracle, he actually began to ascend the ranks due in part to his ability to always find himself in the wrong place at the right time, like in a bar drinking with a wanted felon, who not only had too much to drink but also insulted Coal's mother, or standing a bit further away than usual from the "officer in charge" before said officer got hit by a cannon ball. His skills in and out of combat also distinguished him from his fellows, being able to take on skilled adversaries on even terms with only his chain and his skill. Eventually he became one of the youngest Vice-Admirals in history, due to: great potential, lack of staff, and the last best guy getting hit by a cannon ball, twice. On his way to becoming a Vice-Admiral he met a fellow whom he considered a comrade, with similar view on the truth of justice. Though Coal wanted to kill the guy half the time, Anduin was the only fellow whom he considered a one true friend since he joined the Marines. This may have something to do with the fact that he is the only other individual of similar rank, that isn't annoying and or a psychopathic killer. |
