Bain grew up on the beautiful island of Fianna, a gorgeous green land covered in rolling hills (Scotireland). Bain's father owned and operated a bar, and Bain was taught from an early age how to mix drinks. He was always a troublemaker, and it amazed his entire family that he never got explelled from school. He managed to bring home good marks in science at least, so his father took a little pride in that.

On his sixteenth birthday he received a pair of flintlocks from his father for self defense that he named Bull and Boxer. This was mostly because he accidentally stole a Devil Fruit from criminals. He hadn't intended to eat it, but it was sat down next to the apple he was about to eat, and no one had realized what happened until the fruit was gone. Of course, the flintlocks didn't help too terribly much. They threatened his father's life if he didn't pay them back, and the gun's one shot each didn't manage to help much. His father was killed before his eyes, he only survived by learning how to use his powers, and his father's bar burned down.

With no home left, Bain set sail on the seas. One of his first big adventures was when he was briefly captured by Marines, only for him to break out of their custody before they brought out the Seastone. In the process he managed to steal a bigger and faster boat as he escaped.

He also experimented with a number of pistols as he tried to find a pair that would work for him in all forms. For a while, his flintlocks worked but eventually they got knocked into a lake while fighting another Fruit user. His problem was that he needed something that can be used when he shifts, but that those kinds of weapons were expensive to manufacture. Eventually he came across a pirate with a vast assortment of guns, who used a pair of customized pistols. While fighting over a compass that was supposed to lead to the Grand Line but was actually a child's toy, he managed to steal the guns from him during the fight.

• ⚔ Beauceron (below) - A magazine fed handgun modified for use in his left hand, built for long ranged targeting/comfort. It is intended to be used with Doberman. It is customized so that he can use them in Hyrbid Form with little effort.
  
• ⚔ Doberman (above) - A right handed pistol used for quick draw and rapid fire. It is intended to be used with Beauceron, and is a duplicate of it that has been customized for the above use.

• Fang Shot: The typical munitions for Beauceron and Doberman, they are heavily customized bullets that look white and are visibly pointed so that when they strike the pierce like a knife. It is an urban legend that these bullets are actually Bain's own fangs, which are so strong that they can shatter metal with a single shot - they aren't and they cannot.
  
  
  
• Howl Shot: Howlers are the least powerful of his specialty bullets, but the holes strategically placed through them allow him to "bend" their path by firing them with a flick of his wrist, howling like a dog as they fly.
  
  
  
• Blaze Shot: The metals and gunpowder used to create these bullets cause a chemical reaction that sets the bullet on fire exactly three milliseconds after the bullet leaves the chamber. The fire burns despite the wind produced by the bullet's flight path.
  
  
  
• Storm Shot: A unique bullet that builds up an intensely powerful but short lived static charge as it moves through the barrel, shocking whatever it hits nonlethally. That said, any metal that it strikes becomes electrically charged upon contact, meaning that any armor or weapon it hits becomes electrified and shocks its' user. The charge also lets the gun its fired from act like a railgun while its being fired.
  
  
  
• Freeze Shot: A bullet that cools itself and releases a burst of liquid nitrogen when it shatters, freezing whatever it hits. They are the hardest for Bain to produce, but he loves using them.
  
  
  
• Rubber Shot: Nonlethal bullets made of rubber.
  
  
  
• Smoke Shot: Special bullets that release exactly what you think they do when they hit. They aren't capable of killing because of this.
  
• ⚔ Kai Ken - A black longsword Bain uses when he runs out of bullets. He rarely runs out.
