Hair Color: Pink Eye Color: Blue Attire: Emmaline tends to wear clothes that she finds comfortable but only to certain extent. She doesn't like to get too comfortable because she's used to wearing not so comfortable clothing. Her typical adventure to casual and comfortable clothing are short shorts and a tank top or spaghetti strap shirt. Her shorts are generally jeans of dark or light shades and her tank tops or spaghetti strap shirts consist of several colors as she doesn't really have much of a color preference. She also likes to wear dresses that show off her shoulders and flow around her waist with knee high socks and boots. Skirts are another thing that she can be found wearing either short or long depending on her mood at the time. She's pretty adamant about wearing shorts when she does and usually wears a coat with them even if she's on a winter type island. She tends to wear knee high socks with them as well and never wears any other type of shoe but knee high boots but with different types of heels on them. On winter islands that are too cold for her to easily ignore the weather she'll wear dark or light shaded jeans with a sweater of any color and her coat. She has two coats that she actively keeps her hands on, one is a short coat that covers only the top half of her and the other one goes down to at least her knees with a fur trimmed hood and sleeves both are black in color. She still has a few really nice dresses that she used to wear or rather she obtained to wear whenever she needs to go under cover. Besides all that she wears something akin to armor as she is a revolutionary and she finds it safer to dress in this. Her island was big on armor and knights in general. She was partial to it all before but now she's big on it. Her armor makes up of a breast plate that stops just before reaching her stomach that reaches up to her neck curving around it to protect it. The armor continues onto her shoulders and down to about her elbow not attached to the breast plate armor itself. There is another piece that connects around her elbow into a straight piece that covers the rest of her arm. Another plate of metal covers the top of her hand but stops when it reaches her fingers. Underneath this bit of armor she wears dress that the female knights in training would wear back on her island. Short and red in color stopping to well before her knees with white accents and one big pleat in the front to make it easier to move around in. A belt hangs from her waist to hold her sword with metal tips on it. She wears a garter belt that attaches to the stockings or knee high socks to keep them in place and she wears boots to match with this uniform dress, red with white accents, these are different among her other boots at these are strictly pull on boots that tend to hug her calves and they have a rather short heel to them. Abnormalities: She does have a scar that is gouged into her back, which is one reason why she hides it. A scar on the back is a sign of weakness and she must be seen as strong. The scar runs at a diagonal from her upper back to her lower back and is as thick as it is ugly. Dark in color its a terrible blemish and imperfection. |

[attr="class","bg"] [attr="class","title"]Background Emmaline was born into a life that she never asked for and found herself cursing it as she matured. It wasn't like her family or situation was a particularly bad one but it was definitely not something she would have asked for. She was born a princess of an island that lived far in the past and looked destined to remain that way for a long time. This island in particular still lived in the times of having a royal family and a king in charge of it. She would also find herself being the only child who could possibly take over the thrown. Her mother was a caring person who loved her and her children like any other. It seemed though that her king and husband didn't approve of it. He was a heartless man who kept his country under tight reigns. She didn't understand it at the time but her father wasn't a very kind man and he wasn't at all a good leader either. He wished for nothing but money and when her time came he would have her do nothing but the same as him. She didn't want that though and she learned that as she grew older. As a child Emmaline was obedient and listened to everything that was told by her parents. She had to remain poised and her father told her that she was not to once ever show kindness to those beneath her. The people of their island and country were those that were beneath her. It was a good thing though that these words did not taint her. She was taught better by her mother and this is where her time with her mother was broken. The beautiful and kind woman who once stood by the king was berated in front of their people as a whore and traitor. She was killed in the only way that the king found fit and that was a beheading. It was then that a hatred for her father seeded itself within her but it stayed away. She wasn't sure what it was the time but every time she saw him a fire came into her eyes. Her siblings after her younger sister only existed because he found himself a new queen who followed him obediently like the previous queen hadn't. She didn't tell her children or rather daughters to never think of their people as beneath them just as the king wanted. She did everything that he wanted her to and this lead to her hating her wicked step mother. She was alienated by her instead since she was the oldest of the children of the king and never seemed capable of producing a male heir. She was only seen as competition for her own daughters and a terrible one at that. She found herself being tortured by this woman from the time she was 10 to the time that everything fell apart on their lovely little island. Her hatred towards her step mother was only made worse as her step mom would pick on her younger sister who had never done anything to her. She just existed as the child of previous queen who was branded as a whore when she had never done anything to anybody. Emma even with bruised pride she held her head high and ignored any comments that she received from her step mother and her 4 terrible half sisters. She continued to live her life as her mother would have wanted her too all to one day become queen of their country so her people wouldn't have to suffer anymore. She was probably about 13 when her people learned that she wasn't just some spoiled brat like they were led on to believe. It was all thanks to her half sister's and the new queen that she had to suffer the thoughts of such. She was out one day in the market for a lesson how trade for the future when she needed to exchange between other islands. She found a group of children who were just sitting on the streets seemingly starving to death. Just the site of them brought her to tears and caused her to buy food for the children there. It was then that she found herself always visiting them to play and bring a smile to their faces. Her smile could light up a room and the thought of the oldest princess having a heart became whispers around the kingdom. The kingdom would never see her time as the queen though and she'd never find herself making the people happy ever again. The next two years she helped in the kingdom secretly whenever she could. It was when she was 19 though that she discovered that the king had gotten himself into some major trouble. It was trouble enough to make the government become involved and once they found him deciding that he wasn't going to obey them anymore. He was going against the government because he wanted to be the only person that his people listened to. He even believed himself to be better than the tenryobito themselves. That was a laughable thing to the government but they found him a threat. The entire island was seen as a threat and they were targeted to be destroyed. It was a terrible wake up call. The sound of cannons and screaming that is. Emmaline was frightened as she flung herself out of bed and went to look outside the window. Things were on fire and the kingdom was in a panicked frenzy. She grabbed the closest thing to decent she could and ran off to find her father. She was met thought with a knight that followed her father. He stopped her and told her what was happening then told her to go retrieve some clothing so she could escape. Fear filled the 17 year old and she rushed back to her room to gather some things before she found herself back with the knight. He led her to a passage to underneath the castle, which he said would be safe for the most part. It was the passage that the king had to their own private ships. He was planning an escape and that was what she was to do. While her people died, the royal family would escape. The knight seemed fine with this but she was clueless. Only she was to be saved that night. Her island was being torn to pieces at the hands of the government that she had trusted. She watched before her eyes as her father was killed in cold blood along with her baby sister. She screamed tragically as her sister breathed her last breath and was struck hard by something she wasn't sure of. She almost died but her knight saved her. She was able to live through the ordeal at the cost of her own sister. He got her to the next closest island and upon her wake he vowed to protect her. That was the day that she decided she wasn't going let what happened to her people and her little sister be forgotten. She was fed up with the World Government and everything they stood for because it was corrupted. She could see them for what they really were and that's where her plans started. Emmaline never really planned on being recognized as a pirate though but instead a revolutionary. Things don't always fall quite into place but she's worked with what she got. Her organization that was meant to be named the Knights of Kingsbury found itself being called something different based on who was talking. She wanted to gather people to become part of her organization and be knights with her and her knight but that idea has become scarce. She realized over the years that it was a lot harder to run and be in charge of people than she thought. This wasn't her giving up on the idea but decided to wait until the perfect time to do so. She was more so concerned with doing something to be recognized by the people so they'd know what she was fighting for. She didn't want to do anything dirty or at least that had been the idea. Her knight and her set out to work on a plan they had going for a while in the making as in months. Emmaline had her eyes set on helping potential slaves for the tenryubito and other nobles alike become free. She didn't like the way that the World Government just ignored those types of things. All she cared about was freeing the slaves and nothing else. The plan went rather well even if it required a fight to break out between herself and the marines that were called on the behalf of the nobles sitting in the auction. There was where and why she was landed the chance to become a Shichibukai. The potential threat she held for rescuing the slaves while well known nobles were attending was big enough to consider it. She wasn't too sure what to think about it all at first. She didn't know if it was a good idea since she was essentially scared they would recognize her as someone who escaped the buster call a couple of years ago. She discussed it with her knight in secret and they came to the conclusion that this was good for them. For her to become a Shichibukai that'd make her one step closer to the World Government, which was her goal. She'd be able to get her hands on them a whole lot easier if they thought she was on their side. She took the spot and has been a 'dog of the marines' since. Ironically it is at the auction where she found herself a weird looking fruit that would grant her the Hie Hie powers she has now. She snatched it because it was rather interesting looking and later ate it. It tasted terrible but she seemed to choke it down quite fine. She found herself in possession of her ice powers. It was shocking at first but she soon grew used to the abilities or more so than she should be. In her book, after all, anyone traveling with her would be considered a knight. |
