Dials, a curious variety of seashell commonly found on the shores of Sky Islands, from a currently unknown species of mollusk native to the White Sea. Many researchers suspect that this mollusk is actually a large collective of subspecies, while others argue that it's one species that adapts their shell based on their environment. Regardless, these wondrous shells contain stupendous abilities, often functioning like an organic machine.
CANON
Dials found in the canon of One Piece.
Axe Dial; A powerful Dial that stores compressed air, before releasing it as a slicing burst of hyper-compressed air, in either an X shape or a broad line, depending on the specific specimen.
Breath Dial; These Dials store air currents, and can also be used to store various types of gasses, as well as standard air infused with any sort of scent. These are commonly equipped on a type of scooter called a Waver, allowing it to skim across the surface of the water or the White Sea.
Flame Dial; These Dials store up flames of any sort, amplifying the heat and intensity until release. They are most commonly used for combat, and often inside gloves or gauntlets for easy concealment, or in the hilt of weapons to coat the blade.
Flash Dial; These Dials store light particles, releasing them in super bright flashes akin to flash grenades. While lesser varieties can provide the flash for cameras, larger specimens make for excellent tactical weapons.
Heat Dial; These Dials store and release heat energy. While they can have a place in combat, they are more frequently used in domestic uses, such as heating homes or powering ovens.
Impact Dial; These Dials function similar to Axe Dials, but instead of a sharp edge of compressed air, they fire off gusts of wind like a blast from a cannon, inflicting powerful blunt force.
Jet Dial; A much more powerful version of the Breath Dial, which lacks the ability to store scents or specialized gasses, but replaces this with a much more powerful expulsion force. These can also be mounted on Wavers, resulting in a much faster ride akin to a modern jet ski.
Lamp Dial; A Dial much like the Flash Dial, but which releases light steadily over an extended period. This makes it nearly useless for combat, but makes it excellent for domestic purposes.
Eisen Dial; A curious Dial, which functions differently depending on where it's used. On the White Sea, the Eisen Dial stores particulates from the air and bits of cloud, mixing them to produce a specialized "Iron cloud" that can take any number of forms and be shaped by the Dial's user. On the Blue Sea, however, it releases a thin mist that sticks to the nearest object and coats it in a fine layer of incredibly tough material, increasing its durability and hardness.
Reject Dial; An incredibly powerful version of the Impact Dial, which releases energy with enough force that the unprepared can be severely injured or even possibly killed by the recoil alone.
Thunder Dial; A very simple and useful Dial, which stores electricity and amplifies it before releasing.
Tone Dial; The most common Dial to find on the Blue Sea, where they are commonly called TDs, Tone Dials store and record sounds and replay them exactly as they are recorded. While larger TDs can hold much more sound, they always play from the beginning, so most prefer to have an assortment of smaller ones with different songs stored on them. With a bit of know-how, headphones designed using the TDs have been made, allowing personal music to be more than a simple pipe dream.
Vision Dial; These unique Dials can store moving images, and, combines with Tone Dials, can be used to produce the equivalent of a modern video, or even a full movie. This puts them nearly in as high a demand as Tone Dials, though they are quite a bit rarer.
Water Dial; These simple Dials, almost invariably crystal clear, can hold any sort of fluid, most commonly used to store water, and compresses it to release in a more forceful manner.
