[nospaces] [attr="id","infoTem"] [attr="id","blokTitle"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Character Ability Types [attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Overview [attr="class","temWrap"] We have three distinct varieties of abilities available to characters. Each has its own rules for which races can have them, and how a character is able to acquire them. Make sure you know the differences of each before you start shoving them into your application. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Standard Abilities These are entirely individual to the person, and are either a unique physical feature/deformation, or a physical skill they trained to achieve. As such, these can easily be unique to the character, or one of various "stock" skills, like Rokushiki or Haki. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Racial Abilities These are traits tied to the character's race, often consisting of things their body is able to due based on their race, like the shapeshifting of Shadetails, or the flight of Skyfolk. Keep in mind that these are almost never unique, as any member of that race can use them, and we very heavily frown on the "Last of my race" cliche here. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Family Traits Family traits are physical traits passed down in the genes of a particular bloodline, the most notable of which being the Night family's ability to access a sort of limited hammerspace. These are unique to a bloodline, so only members of that family can use them. [attr="id","blokLast"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Ability Stats [attr="class","temWrap"] All of the above types of abilities are very much number based abilities. As they're all easily quantifiable they use the following guidelines when being made. Remember, these are just guidelines, not hard rules, so while you do not need to use these exact numbers, they are what staff uses to gauge whether or not your ability actually fits its ranking. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Base Stats These are the base stats for each ranking. Some racial modifiers change these numbers, and will be taken into account when staff review profiles.[break] [attr="class","appIndent"] [break]Projectile Range | 30' [break]AoE Range | 15' [break]Run Speed | 12 MPH [break]Lift Weight | 230 lbs [break]Throw Weight | 115 lbs [break]Jump Height | 2' [break]Leap Distance | 6'
[break] [attr="class","temSect"]Rank Modifiers These are the modifiers for each rank. These modifiers adjust the above numbers when creating abilities. Racial modifiers are applied first, and then the ability rank modifier is applied second.[break] [attr="class","appIndent"] [break]Rank I | Base x1 [break]Rank II | Base x2 [break]Rank III | Base x4 [break]Rank IV | Base x6 [break]Rank V | Base x10

[nospaces] [attr="id","infoTem"] [attr="id","blokTitle"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Haki [attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Overview [attr="class","temWrap"] Haki is a mysterious force that is found in every living being in the One Piece world. It is not that different from the normal senses. However, most people do not notice it or fail in awakening it. Broadly, there are two types of Haki common to everyone, given the proper training; however, there is a third type that only a certain group of "chosen ones" are said to possess. Haki is separated into three categories: Kenbunshoku Haki, which grants users a sixth sense of the world around them and limited precognitive abilities; Busoshoku Haki, which allows the user to use their spirit as armor to defend against attacks or to make their own attacks more potent; and Haoshoku Haki, a rare type of Haki only one in a million can use which grants the user the ability to overpower the will of others. Most people who can use Haki tend to have a type they're better at and as a result focus on that type. However, a person can improve their abilities with all the types of haki, it just requires more work.
[attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Kenbunshoku Haki [attr="class","temWrap"] A form of Haki that allows the user to sense the presence of others, even if they are concealed from view or too far to see naturally. When using this type of Haki, one can predict an opponent's moves shortly before they make them, thereby making the attack that much easier to evade. This prediction appears to the user as an image or brief "premonition" of what the opponent will do in the user's mind's eye, and the damage the user will take if the attack "hits" for real. It appears that the more killer intent the enemy has the easier they are to predict, though more skilled users can predict future moves regardless of whether there are ambient murderous intents or not. Though the technique allows the user to predict most attacks, it can be circumvented by various means. It cannot predict inherently random attacks; for example, Luffy managed to bypass Enel's Mantra by bouncing his fists off a nearby wall, to prevent himself and thus Enel from knowing where they would land. Tying in with the inability to detect random attacks, Kenbunshoku Haki seems to be linked to the target's own awareness of themselves and their surroundings. Enel failed to discern the presence of Luffy inside the giant snake Norla, only detecting him after he escaped. It also doesn't make the user any faster than normal, so the user's ability to dodge is dependent on their speed; Enel was unable to avoid Luffy's finishing move because it was moving too fast. Likewise, Luffy Gear Second was able to outpace Boa Sandersonia despite her ability to read his moves. It also seems to falter if the user loses their concentration.
[attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Busoshoku Haki [attr="class","temWrap"] Another form of Haki that allows the user to create a force similar to an invisible armor around themselves. This armor can protect the user from attacks and push aggressors away. Similar to Tekkai, precious few can overpower the defenses of a Busôshoku Haki-user, as demonstrated by Luffy striking Marigold hard enough with Gear 2 moves to send her reeling, and Kizaru piercing through Marco with his lasers; it is currently unknown as to what extent or to how long can a proficient user maintain this effect. With training, it can be further honed into a weapon with which to strike others, like the Kuja's arrows. This type of Haki enhances the power of any attack, be it melee or ranged, and also allows the user to bypass the powers of a Devil Fruit user, striking the user's human body beneath whatever protection the Fruit may provide, even in the case of body-altering Devil Fruits such as Paramecia or Logia users.
[attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Haoshoku Haki [attr="class","temWrap"] This is the Haki of Kings. As a user of this Haki, you are the one in a million with a claim to the world’s throne, your authority as great as that of any king. Some may say even greater as your dominion over aspects of creation is almost as absolute as the Creator itself, as with but a glance even the mightiest become naught but meek, docile sheep who obey your command. [break][break] Like with any king, experience and practice makes you a better ruler. From the mindless or the barely sentient beasts that your power allows you absolute authority over, your rule expands to other sentient lifeforms as you grow stronger.
[attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Haoshoku Ranks [attr="class","temWrap"] These are how the Haoshoku ranks are currently handled. [nospaces] [attr="id","infoTem"] [attr="id","blokTitle"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Rokushiki [attr="id","blokMain"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]Overview [attr="class","temWrap"] Special, superhuman skills that are the base of an advanced hand-to-hand combat technique. In the Viz Manga, they are called the Six Powers. Most of the users have their own variation of each technique, to increase their versatility and originality. The Rokushiki style are for the CP9 agents and marines. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Kami-e Kami-e makes the users' body go limp in order to avoid any attacks, and float like a piece of paper. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Geppou Geppou allows the users to actually jump off the air itself, allowing them to stay in the air for much longer than usual. CP9 members can use this technique to cross great distances without ever touching the ground, or set themselves up for swift, aerial attacks. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Rankyaku Rankyaku is a powerful projectile technique, in which the users starts by kicking at very high speeds and strength, sending out a sharp "air blade" that can slice objects and greatly damage a human body. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Shigan Shigan is a close-quarter combat technique, in which the user pushes their finger into a certain target at a very high speed, leaving a wound similar to a bullet wound, making guns unnecessary. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Soru Soru allows the users to moves at extremely high speeds in order to avoid attacks, as well as to attack at higher speeds. It was revealed that the principle of this move was to kick off the ground at least ten times in a blink of an eye. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Tekkai Tekkai hardens the users' muscles to the level of iron, in order to nullify damage taken from attacks. However, it can be broken by strong enough forces. The strength of Tekkai can vary for users with different physical conditions, as a person with a higher level of muscular strength would be able to take stronger forces with his/her use of Tekkai. Despite the increased physical density that one gains when activating this move, one should remember that the user's body is still flesh and blood. Thus, its resistance to other than solid attacks remain pretty much the same, making the user as vulnerable as ever to certain attacks. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]Rokuogan The user places both his/her fists right in front of the target and launches a devastating shock wave, which seems to have the same power as an Impact Dial or even a Reject Dial (depending on the amount of energy absorbed by the dial), and causing massive internal injuries. This is only used during desperate situations. [attr="id","blokLast"] [attr="class","temBlok"] [attr="class","temTitle"]OOC rules [attr="class","temWrap"] Only Marines are able to learn Rokushiki, and only CP are allowed to have them to start. Pirates and Bounty Hunters can teach themselves knock-off versions that aren't quite the same, but they cannot teach themselves a knock-off of Rokuogan. [break][break] Unlike the Haki of Yonkou and Admirals, the Rokushiki of CP take up an ability slot. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]CP-1 through CP-7 Allowed any type Rokushiki. [break]Can start with any one Rokushiki. [break][break] [attr="class","temSect"]CP-8 through CP-0 Allowed any type Rokushiki. [break]Can start with two Rokushiki.
