NOTES small notes | A bullet hole covered cloak found itself laying off to the side, the owner not bothered with folding it neatly or organizing it in anyway just allowing the cloak to cling to a nearby boulder that was one of hundreds which made up the rocky shoreline of the edges of Goat Island. The ocean winds threatened to blow the cloak away, but he would wish it would; he would wish it would be that easy to let go of a tormenting past that kept him up at nights, and that caused him to hesitate in actions that he normally would take without even thinking. Stunning red hair ruffled itself with the flow of the ocean breeze, wide nostrils inhaled the scent of the salty ocean, and a lean physique welcomed the bright suns enveloping rays. Allowing the wind to gently caress his body he shut his knees, allowing his hair to be swept back returning with a few wild bangs that decided to linger over his bright red crimsons; a pair of crimsons that focused on a distant object that rocked itself upon the ocean waves. A ship, its origins unknown, and its destination a mystery; to what purposes did that ship sail the seas? Why would they brave the dangers of the unforgiving blues? These questioned rolled in his mind, only to be answered by him, because he knew why he did it, and he knew why he would do it again. Yet, when his mind began to wander four harsh reminders that would forever be carved into his lean physique would make sure to rock him back to the reality, and to the truth of the acts he had committed in his short time as 'Captain'. Glancing down his red orbs would trail down the row of bullet wounds, a hand stopping at the one near his collarbone first "This one..." then he slid down to the one on his chest, "...this one...and these.." his hand kept trailing down. Why had he been allowed to live? Any of these shots if they had been aimed just a few inches lower, or higher he would have died, yet here he stood a forsaken Captain with no crew to captain, with only wears, and tears to his name, and a rag tag boat that sailed with the current of the blue waves. He was a wanderer, the thought made the man smirk after all his time he had invested in being something more, in being glorious, and strong; at the end of it all he was nothing more but a simple wanderer. Demon-Eyes, as they called him, the name still held some ground amongst the pirates of the underworld, but even with it he was also called a traitor. They knew, what he had done how he had turned his back on his own crew allowing them to be massacred like cattle for the promise of gold, such a materialistic goal he had; yet now it had brought him nowhere but to the rocky shore of an island that had no form of civilization on it. To what end? Why was he wandering? Too many questions, and no answers...to any of them, the red eyed man would only allow himself to enjoy this moment. The past clung desperately to him never letting him forget, and the future was an obscure veil of shadows that never allowed to see anything in clarity; ultimately all he had was this the moments like these. The moments where he had some form of peace, as fragile, and as brief as they may be they existed even for the traitor like him. With a quiet movement the man spread his arms a bit, shutting his red orbs to allow the oceans breeze to sweep by once more to caress his exposed upper body the cool chill welcomed by the red haired monster. |

"A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" With a cool breeze from the ocean winds the red headed "sailor", if you could even call the captain of a catboat that, sat aboard her one man vessel twiddling a matchstick between her teeth, flicking at the end in her mouth with her tongue as she lay back, board out of her mind and just quietly watching the sky and the clouds drift by, sometimes spotting shapes and pretending it's something rude just to make herself giggle. It was a simple pleasure, but it got her through the hours.
With a quiet sigh she would eventually lift her head up, darting back and forth for a sign of land, just anything that would let her know she could sit back and truly relax for a day or two. Since she left her home island she hadn't even landed at another shore, despite her telescope spottin a few rocky formations her navigation skills left much to be desired. Heck, she even had a map, the only issue was it was for a whole other sea! Ugh, she knew she should of prepared before going on the run! Why didn't she! It was stupid! Heck she knew her family probably would have gave her more aid if she had the common sense to stick around. They were sailors for years before she was even born, heck, they were a family known for sailing!
"Ugh...guess some things just don't get passed on through genes." Finally bringing her spyglass to her eye the girl had a quick check around, making sure even her keen eyes hadn't missed anything. "Nothing starboard..." Turning her gaze to the other side of the ship, she had a quick scan. At first glance she was going to declare another failure, but upon closer inspection, a small, green spec seemed to be off in the distance...
"HAH! I knew I had to hit something sooner or later!" Jumping up, Yumi rocked the ship with the sudden action. staggering to steady herself, and it. "Okay, don't wanna kill myself so close to salvation." With a nervous smile while she put herself back at ease, Yumi began to adjust the rudder and mast of the ship as she needed to, the winds taking her towards the island in the distance. Before long she would have been in view of anyone on the island itself, and soon enough, her ship would make it to the shore, an excited red head hopping off and tying her boat to a strong log along the shore, not noticing the other red head along the beach. WORDS 575 TAGS YUMI NOTES small notes | T he man was lost in his thoughts, his mind repeating the images of a past he longed to one day forget yet for now would be stuck with its heavy torment as it continued to smash away at his psyche, it was not until his ears picked up a sound that neither the rustling of nearby trees, or the crashing of waves that he would blink himself back to reality. The red orbs that gazed off into the distance of the great blue would lower themselves as they scanned the uninhabited horizon; at first he wondered if that ship he had spotted in the far distance was closing in to dock here. Then again why would they? There was nothing of worth on Goat Island, so he wondered why they would even be coming to the Island, yet at the end the man did not spot a menacing ship. Instead his red eyes would settle upon a small vessel, belonging to an overly excited woman that bounced around like a jelly bean on her boat; he would follow her quietly with his eyes watching as she docked her boat. Bunji remained silent as his eyes examined the woman, he was trying to identify if she was a threat to his safety, she seemed to be overly joyed with...well he was unsure as to why she was so happy. He may have no longer been a Captain, but he was aware that there were those he owed whether it was gold or a life; he would not put it past some of them to try to take him out. Whether it was paranoia or the man was losing what sanity remained, his next actions would be unorthodox to the max reaching for the handle of his flintlock known as 'La Hermana' he would draw the customized weapon from its respective holster. The action was smooth, and quick; the woman was quite far so this was the weapon of choice once it was drawn he took aim, and without even a millisecond of hesitation he pulled back the hammer then squeezed the trigger. The seagulls flocked to the skies, and the sound of the gunshot echoed into the atmosphere disturbing the calm silence of the wilderness around them, sand shot up near the girls feet where the bullet had hit. If she bothered to look where it had come from she would find Bunji holding his flintlock up at shoulder height aiming it with an extended arm. The red haired man walked towards her his other hand hovering over the handle of 'El Hermano', which as soon as he walked ten paces he would draw aiming it at the girl while lowering the other firearm to holster it into its respective holster. "Goat Island is a wasteland. What business to you have here?" he asked her his finger pulling down the hammer of the shortened blunderbuss as he aimed the business end at the girl. The shirtless veteran pirate remained quiet, his red eyes burning with an intense glare that seemed both aggressive, and detached from anything. He was not one to be easily charmed, so if someone had hired this red haired vixen to slay him they had chosen the wrong way to go on about it; their only true success was in allowing Bunji to put down another hired gun hopefully saving the life of whatever other poor sap she had to kill today. |

225 "A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" "Okay, food supplies running low, first things first. Check the forest for anything I can ea-AH!"
Yumi jumped as a shot rang out and the sand kicked up around her. Looking up the shoreline a red headed man seemed to be walking towards her, gun in hand and switching to a shorter barreled weapon as he glared into her eyes, keeping her at gun point. Yumi had her own guns, sure, but she wasn't practiced in the art of a quick draw. Gazing back, a little scared by the intimidating bare chested man, she rose her arms, high above her pistols. With proof he had a long range pistol she had little chance to run so what else could she do but tell the truth.
"Look...sir." SHe bowed her head, trying to show respect. "I was lost out on sea, I just made it here by chance. Right now, I just wanna get some food, maybe set up a camp in the forest, and I'll be gone by morning. I don't want to cause an issue." She looked into those red eyes with her own honey ones, showing slight worry, but at the same time, a tiny bit of excitement seemed to strangely shine through. CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS 507 TAGS names hur NOTES small notes | A t least she wasn't getting all crazy, he was actually surprised by her initial reaction to his approach the man would keep his blunderbuss aimed at the girl making sure to be in the right spot to blow her pretty little brains all over the floor if she tried anything, watching her raised her hands in defeat he listened quiet to her words. The red haired man smirked, "Excuse me" he said as he lowered his weapon holding it loosely in his left hand, as he allowed that arm to hang loosely at his side; "You can never be too careful in these uncertain times" he said to the girl as he holstered his gun. Glancing over at her he would turn his attention to the great blue, "You wont find anything here. Unless you want to eat fried forest roaches for dinner, I advice you get your hands on a solid stick, sharpen the end, and try your hand at fishing" he would say as he turned from the girl entirely giving her his broad back the exit wounds of his bullet holes deeply imbedded into the flesh of his lean physique. He was done talking, he would make his way back to his end of the beach, and leave this girl to her business; yet something was tugging him to not do just that. The man sighed, he had done so much bad what harm would there be in doing some good besides he had not had any interaction with others in a while turning back towards the girl he stared at her with his red orbs for a moment. "I can help you set things up, the sun is almost setting it would be bad to be caught out at sea with the temperatures dropping, I already have a spear made from earlier in the day. You go into the forest, find a suitable place for shelter, and a fire" he said as he walked over close to his cloak pulling his makeshift spear from the floor resting it on his shoulder he would turn towards the woman. Giving her a wave of the hand, "Make haste into the forest to find that suitable spot, I'll be back with fish!" he said as he ran into the waters, the waves of the cold waters soon consuming the red haired male as he dove into its depths. A few times his red hair would be spotted breaking the surface as he gasped for air only to descend back down to the depths soon after, moments later he would emerge from the cold waters with his spear having three fishes stuck onto it he had stabbed each into place. He would ignore the flopping fishes letting them die out slowly, his muscles glistened with the suns reflection the warm rays embracing his chilled body, and red bangs of wet hair stuck to his face hanging over a pair of red eyes that searched for the nameless girl. Her boat was still here, so where was she? |

708 "A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" Alright, the red head believed her. This was a start she supposed. Slowly she would begin to feel at ease, her hands lowering down. She found it a bit off that after only hearing her own words he was brave enough to turn his back to her. Did he not see the two guns on her belt? No matter. It just gave her the edge should things turn sour. Her hands rested on her belt, close to her guns. "Yeah. Can never be too careful can ya?~" She seemed a little disappointed to hear there wasn't even any fruit or berries on the island, but then again, she had better eyes then most. Perhaps she could find something he couldn't. It was always a better alternative to fishing, that was an art she really didn't have the patience for...ironically she preferred to snipe animals, which required far more patience.
"Well if you really don't mind me staying I guess I'll set up camp and-" Yumi halted in her steps as she walked back towards her boat, on the way to grab the simple camping set up she had packed with her in case she couldn't find a place to stay on any of the islands she came across. Oddly enough the same guy who wanted her to leave was suddenly offering to help her set up for the night, even taking up the job she wanted to do least. "Oh er...if you're sure I guess." If she knew about her Kuja heritage she woulda sworn this was her natural charm at work. Of course she hadn't a clue, so she just thought the other red head was going a bit cookoo staying on the island so long. Picking up her camping stuff, she headed back into the forest.
"I'll be back when I'm setup!"
Heading deeper into the forest minute after minute, Yumi found a nice little clearing to set up. Enough room for a campfire and her tent. A few quick stamps with some pegs and a long stick to stand it up and her shelter was ready. She had no idea what the nameless man was doing for his own shelter though. Heck, she wasn't even sure why she cared, she had more important things to focus on. Climbing a nearby tree , she pulled her satchel off her shoulders, revealing some neatly packaged metallic parts to some larger contraption. Slowly she put it together, piece by piece, clicks and clacks sounding the locking of each part of the larger weapon, soon forming a rather impressive rifle. Giving a quick look down the scope, it seemed to all be in working order.
A good sniping point. A rifle. What more could a girl want?
Glancing down the scope towards the shore she'd smile with a gentle giggle, watching the nameless man hunt fish, every now and then his hair popping up with the rest of his bare torso...she had to admit, it was a nice view, tilting her head as if to make sure her scope was really showing her reality. "Hot damn...There was no guy like THAT back home..." Quickly shaking some thoughts from her head, she turned her gaze back to the forest floor, looking around for any animals that may be hiding in the undergrowth. Not finding anything, she decided to use an old trick her dad taught her, pulling out one of her dual shot flintlocks and aiming into the sky. BANG! Shot fired. The fluttering of wings suddenly sounded out through the forest and Yumi was quick to snap back to her rifle, darting between the birds that tried to fly for safety and shooting down one, not caring to watch it fall and quickly reloading her rifle, darting back to the flock and taking down a second. She made sure to check where they landed, hopping down off her branch and rushing off to catch her kills.
Before long, she was back at her camp, waiting for the red head to find her as she plucked the birds with a pile of firewood ready for the night. CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS ### TAGS names hur NOTES small notes | R ed eyes searched out any signs of the woman, yet it would be his ears that would find her first. The sound of a gunshot snapping into the air would ring into his ears, he was quick to reach for the handle of his holstered flintlock for a moment his body tensed, and his mind raced. The man took in deep breath when he noticed nothing dangerous was happening, as a matter of fact when he gazed up to the skies he noticed a bird get shot down watching as it began to plummit to the forest below. He knew the woman with red hair was the only other one on the Island with him, so he was quick to rush into the forest the shirtless man snatching his cloak from the boulder as he disappeared into the shadows of the forest. Bunji moved with impressive agility in his step as he pushed off the ground to hop over fallen trees, and moved to either side to avoid trees that would block his path. Finally he arrived not at the spot where the girl had made her kill, but the spot where she had set up camp. He had to admit he was impressed with how prepared she was, the tent stood up on its own, the fire was ready, with a nod the man walked over the opposite side of the tent becoming his spot. Sitting he would stab the sharp makeshift spear he had made into the ground allowing it to stand alone, crossing his arms over his bare chest after tossing his cloak to the side the shirtless man would let out a deep sigh. The warmth of the fire a welcoming sensation to his rather chilled body, the combination of the moisture clinging to his muscles, and the rushing ocean air had succeeded in giving him a bit of a chill. Taking his arms from his chest Bunji would grab the fish, standing from it he glanced at the woman "It seems a feast is to be prepared" he commented as he marched over to a nearby stone. Taking the fishes one at a time he would lay them on the flat surface of the stone, using a small curved blade he would slice the fishes open, and gut them tossing their guts far away. This process was repeated two more times once each fish had been scaled he stood from the stone, approaching the fire she had made Bunji then began to gather flat stones setting the near the fire, so close that the flames crawled over the stones even. This would cause the stones to heat up, allowing them to be used for cooking setting down the fleshy inside of the fishes on the stones the sound of a deep sizzle began to ring all around. He sat there staring at the fishes cook for a moment, the smell of their cooking flesh soon filled the air with every inhale Bunji could feel his stomach react, as his appetite grew. Opening his shut eyes he focused the red orbs on the red haired woman, "I'm Bunji by the way" he said to her with a wave of the hand, he figured if was going to be sharing the Island might as well be friendly. Yes shooting at her was not the best impression but he could make up for it, "What brings you to the Island?" he asked trying to stir up some conversation between the two. |

470 "A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" Yumi seemed to shoot a bright smile in the way of the other red head as his jumps between fallen trees and rocks indicated his approach. Already she had managed to pluck all the feathers off of one of the birds, and was now onto the second, leaning back on a nice little assortment of rocks. It wasn't the comfiest of lounges, but right now it worked for her. With sharp pulls of her hands and feathers pinched between her fingers and thumb, she went about plucking the bird, not even needing to look and instead glancing over to the red head opposite her, smiling as she counted the three fish he had caught out in the sea. She'd be eating better than she had even with her supplies from leaving home.
With the two sitting in silence for a moment, the gun toter carving the insides out of his fish, Yumi suddenly realized she had no way around that. She didn't exactly wanna eat chicken guts herself, but she also felt things may not be buddy buddy enough between them to ask the other supposed pirate to do it. Maybe if she just asked for his knife she could...what on earth was he doing with those rocks? To Yumi this seemed like a clever little trick. Her own idea for cooking was to put them on a stick and roast them like marshmallows...but perhaps that wasn't the best idea, seeing as the only twigs she had were covered in mud.
With time passing and the fish beginning to cook, she was about to work up the courage to ask to borrow the knife when the pirate introduced himself...she smiled, but she wasn't sure why. Maybe she just felt good that he was being nice enough to talk to her, maybe it was that she liked his name. Cuddling her knees close, her smile grew as she spoke. "Yumi." She grabbed her plucked birds by the neck, tossing them to Bunji accross the fire. "Mind gutting these? You seem to have a better hand on this than I do." Her eyes trailed to the cooking fish, as if pointing out the proof. "As for why I'm here, did you see my ship? I am have no maps, no compass, and no way to tell if I'm even in East blue anymore. I was LUCKY to end up here, even luckier to find someone who knew survival cooking." She gave a genuine smile, the closest she could give to a thank you without sounding weird, thanking a stranger for being somewhere he just so happened to be. "How about you? You sound like you've been here a while." CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS ### TAGS names hur NOTES small notes | Y umi, that was a name he would make sure to remember he had already been around the block he was once a Captain of a ship; so he knew that sometimes those you met who looked like nobodies would one day become somebodies. He would watch as the girl flung the two birds, catching the featherless rats of the sky he would nod at her in silence then turn his attention to the flat stone once more. With his back to the girl he kept his red eyes on the birds as he worked his way into their stomachs, his ears open to her words as she spoke; "So you're lost" he said to the girl with a soft chuckle his hands expertly ripping the guts from the birds insides. With those discarded off to the side, he turned his attention back to the girl having split the two birds open he set them down over two new rocks that where burning hot, the sizzling sound almost instantly breaking into the quiet atmosphere. "...you need a map, and a compass...good navigation is the tool of any sea braving soul" he said to her with a nod of the head reassuring his words, as he turned the fishes over those were almost ready. With the girls next words he glanced up from the cooking food to stare at her with his deep red eyes, the sun had begun to set, and the flames glow was becoming all the more intense the flickering dance reflecting from Bunji's eyes. "I came across this Island by chance, I decided to stop by, just find myself. I am a lost soul riding across the waves of the East Blue...oh yes you still are in the East Blue" he commented to the girl just to direct an answer to her earlier concerns of her whereabouts. "...I guess I can tell you, I am here because the seclusion I need it" he would add finally his mind for a moment hitting him with another haunting memory of his past deeds. It was only with the sizzle of his food that he broke himself from the trance, reaching down he used his hands to grab hold of the not so hot ends of the fishes, tossing all three on some flat stones. Standing from the floor Bunji ripped thick banana leaves from a nearby tree, kneeling down he worked at it a bit, chopping, and tearing; finally he turned towards Yumi. "A feast worthy of kings no?" he said to the girl holding out a banana leaf that was decorated with bite sized chunks of fish, it was a hardy serving he had pretty much chopped up all three fishes into chunky bits for them both. Once she did take it he would sit across from her, his bare upper body welcoming the flames warmth once more; tossing a piece of stone cooked fish into his mouth he happily chewed it allowing the flavor of the sea to wash over his tongue. When he swallowed he eyed the girl, noticing she wasn't half bad young maybe around his age? But still, she was quite the sight her honey eyes being a very attractive feature that was complimented by her cascading red hair. "Good?" he asked her raising his own food to gesture that he was talking about the food they were sharing. |

650 "A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" Heh, lost, those were probably the only words to describe her. She found it just a tiny bit irritating that Bunji was restating the list of things she herself had just counted off, but the tone he carried it with didn't make it sound like he was belittling her. In fact he seemed more like he was thinking of a way to help, but maybe that was just her. As he spoke her honey eyes trailed down to the food, giving it but a glance where most people would stare longingly. Her eyes instead locked on the campfire, cuddling her knees in tighter. She wondered about her home and the huge burning lighthouse at it's center. Was it still burning? Had the pirates come back? She could only hope not, afterall she did shoot their captain before getting told to run away. Maybe they'd be safe now...maybe.
"Oh yes you are still in East blue."
"Huh?" The red head lifted her face up from the fire, not quite grasping what was being said until her mind seemed to go back over the words she'd heard but just seemed to ignore as she was watching the fire before her. "Oh yeah...heh, can't exactly cross the blues anyway, what with the grand line and red line dividing them." She gave a quiet chuckle, slowly warming back up the the conversation and stretching out her legs, getting comfy once more as she listened to the rest of this pirates words. At first, she wanted to joke that he was lost too, but as he went on it sounded more like he was aiming for this place. Maybe just aiming for anywhere off the beaten path, aiming to get lost. It was an inciting thought, making her wonder why he needed to be secluded.
She may have asked, should she be smart enough to find the words, but once again something came up, and food was placed out before her, nicely laid out on a banana leaf as a makeshift plate. Another thing she would have never thought of. With a quick "Thank you" Both to Bun and her luck of finding the one island with a cook, she took the leaf, looking over the well cooked fish. She chuckled quietly, finding it nearly amusing how rock cooked fish could look as good as the stuff she made herself at home. She wanted to try it quick, just to get it down her and fill her stomache, going in to grab it between her fingers, pulling away as it felt a tad hot. Still, she would not give, diving in again and making sure not to hold it too long, blowing cooling breaths on it and throwing it into her mouth....A shudder ran down her spine. Boy did she miss cooked food. Before long she had the banana leaf held to her face, pinching each chunk and throwing it into her mouth, wiping her lips with the back of her arm. She was starving, no time to be ladylike.
"You're damn right it's good!~" She eyed her birds, almost ready to serve as she lay the banana leaf beside her. "I best get some of that though, hopefully my bullets didn't leave any parts behind." Resting back on her rocks, Yumi happily patted her stomache. Pleasant company, good food....rock hard abs to stare at as she tilted her head, her red ponytail falling behind her...yep, what more could a girl want. "So er...why the seclusion...?" She looked up, guessing it may have something to do with the wounds on his body, they seemed somewhat recent. Of course, she was too nervous to ask directly, and expected a sarcastc question about why she was getting lost in return. CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS ### TAGS names hur NOTES small notes | H e had to admit the red head was great company, the girl was cheery, positive, and her vibes where comforting he could feel at ease around her; quietly Bunji would continue to eat his food almost cleaning his leaf clean until he glanced up to see the girl already having devoured her fish. A smirk would spread across his features being born from amusement, he had to admit the girl was an interesting one he would linger a bit on his own fish setting it down as his tongue moved about in his mouth gathering any left over fish near his teeth. "I made sure to carve open the wounds from your bullets, and clean out any shards" he explained to Yumi, hoping to put her worries at ease reaching down he gathered up the last small chunks of his fish before tossing them into his mouth happily chewing away at them. When he was done he would reach down for the other bird figuring he was welcomed to the sizzling bird, sliding it onto the green leaf he allowed it to rest not wanting to burn his fingers or mouth. It was at this time that the girl hit him with a curve ball of a question, then again was it really surprising that she'd ask? Red eyes remained glued on the bird for a while running up, and down its well cooked flesh; soon these eyes came up to meet the girls soft features. "A wiser man once told me. When you have lost your way, it is best to go to where it all started" he would pause to let his words sink in, as his mind reminded him of the very face of the man who had bestowed such wise words on the young former Captain. Reaching down with his fingers Bunji pinched a chunk of the bird tearing the flesh before throwing it into his mouth to chew it around; "...I lost my way recently, and came here. To the place where my adventure began" he said as he looked up at the rustling branches that were moved by the gentle winds that swept through the dense jungle. "When I find my way again, I will leave the Island. Because then I will know where I want to go" he said with a soft smile to the girl, taking another piece of chicken he would throw it into his mouth allowing his teeth to crush, and smash the meat before he swallowed it. It was then that he heard the distant crashing in the distance, "Thunder" he said looking over to the direction which would lead to the great blue; "It seems a storm is sweeping in...you chose quite the time to stumble upon an Island like this one" he commented as he rose from his sitting position. "I'll be back" Bunji said before stepping into the surrounding wilderness, leaving his bullet torn cloak behind, and his chicken on the floor. It would not be but ten minutes later that the red haired man returned from the wilds to the campsite, in his hands he held two thick bamboo, he would get to work making sure not to get dirt anywhere near their fire or food. Before long with a combination of the two bamboo logs, some thick vine, and lively green leafs he had made a makeshift shelter with a decent base, and a roof to protect him from the coming rains. The remaining leafs he had brought were used to create bedding for the shelter, sitting down again he would let out a sigh of relief as he rested his rump on the comfortable leafs. "So what part of the East Blue do you come from Yumi?" he asked as he tossed another piece of chicken in his mouth, the shirtless male seemingly not bothered by the chilled winds sweeping in from that warned of the coming storm. here |

773 "A sailor went to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" As Bun went for his bird Yumi lifted her own off the rock, making softly noises as it stung her fingers to keep it in her hands, that kinda heat where you know it doesn't hurt but you also shouldn't keep hold of it much longer. With the juicy looking bird now on her leaf she waved her hand, letting the cool, chilling air get them back to normal temperatures before digging in, ripping chunks of meet from the bird and plopping them between her lips. She wasn't even sure by now if she was actually hungry or just so desperate to taste cooked food. Whatever the reason, she hardly cared. She was hardly ladylike back home so why start now.
Even as she ate, she made time to look up between chunks to listen to what the red head had to say. She admitted, only to herself mind, that she had no clue what he was going on about. Something about losing his way, this being the place it all started...it befuddled her but she did pick up one thing. He'd leave when he had his mind set straight, or at least that's how she saw it. She was somewhat glad to hear he wouldn't stay here forever. As nice as it was for her to have a chef on a deserted island, she assumed it wouldn't be the nicest of lives for him to keep up unless he was planning to open a place like that floating restaurant soon.
"Well I'm going to be heading off tomorrow myself." She brought up another chunk to her lips, flinging it into her mouth and humming happily as it landed on her tongue, giving a pleasant hum before swallowing it down, already toying with the meat to get another chunk as she looked up to the red head and spoke. "I wanna see the world like my parents did, so I'll be looking for a good crew to join and set sail with." With another piece flung between her lips, a lightbulb went off, swallowing quickly so she could get her words out. "Hey! Maybe if we meet again and you're looking for a crew, I can put in a word with my captain. He'd be happy for someone with experience." It was a small remark, but it may have drawn attention to the wounds on the red. She was curious to know what they were from, but still too nervous to ask directly.
Whether she got a response or not, it would seem Bunji was off with more plans to make their time on the island a more cozy one. He'd be gone for a short while mentioning something about her having good timing. She wasn't entirely sure, she was too focused on ripping the last strands of leap off this meat, soon leaving bare chicken bones before her and a very satisfied red head rubbing her tummy, laying back on her cozily arranged rocks, and only glancing up as she spotted Bunji returning, the soft cracking of twigs beneath his feet and the light trickles of rain began to drip down from the sky snapped her to attention, watching with intrigue as he set up his own shelter, seeming to not have a tent of his own. She gave a soft chuckle as he seemed to get comfy, eyeing his chicken and hoped he didn't let it go to waist.
"Where am I from?" The question wasn't entirely out there, but she hardly expected it. She wondered if he'd even know it though. "Kasai island...it's a small place and the islands only large enough to hold about 20 buildings, including the metal works, but it was a lovely place to call home." With her food finished, she pulled in her knees, trying to get comfy as she gazed up at the storm brewing, feeling a few more droplets tease her skin. "There's this huge lighthouse on the center of the island... supposedly we're famous for having the biggest in east blue.~ Heck if it weren't for that, my family wouldn't have survived their last sea voyage." Her eyes seemed to wonder for a moment, lost in space, like she was recalling a tale she had been told, and told herself, countless times over. Soon enough though she snapped back to reality, glancing over towards the red head.
"How about you? You said you're going back where you started but something tells me you weren't born here, so what's your story?" CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS ### TAGS names hur NOTES small notes | T he young man sat there in total silence his ears open to the girls words, and his mouth wide open for chunk after chunk of meat he managed to pinch off the chickens body. The girls words rang true to his ear, he knew of the Island she spoke of he in fact was aware of the great lighthouse that towered high into the skies with its bright beacon shining for all to see. Yet, it was when she made mention of a crew that he eyed the girl quietly for a moment his red eyes that once beamed with a welcoming warmth would grow cold, and his smile would fade. For a moment the expression would linger, as his mind was once again reminded of his old crew; clearing his throat the man would chuckle "Perhaps...or perhaps I can just be a friendly face, cooking you meals again the next time we cross paths" he said in a softer tone his smile returning to decorate his features. When the man had finished off his chicken he would inhale deeply, "Your parents sound like a couple of sea braving heroes. Were they well known?" he asked her curiously wondering if her parents had some sort of reputation. When the girl would ask about his own origins, such a touchy subject the male would only remain silent as he heard the rain begin to pour down on them. He could hear his leafy rooftop as it was hit with the crashing drops, for now they were tame it was exactly a downpour but as soon as it became one he expected the girl to flee into the safety of her tent. Effectively this would end their conversation, sitting there he would lower his gaze from his noisy rooftop to focus it upon the now familiar face that belonged to Yumi. He would give her but a slice of an answer, not the entire picture of his origins there were things that he would never tell his own father, let alone a complete stranger whom all he knew of was that she ate like a man, her name was Yumi, and she came from a small Island. "I was born on a small fishing village on the East Blue, it's name so unimportant that mentioning the remote Island here would be a waste of time. It was on this Island that I met a man, a pirate his stories swelled with glory. Me a simple fishermans son, was captivated by his stories...it was because of this pirate, that I decided to leave home, and carve my own legacy to one day be a Captain like him..." he would pause for a moment his hand reaching down to grab a hand full of the moist soil that made up the ground beneath his bedding of leafs. "...a series of events that I could never expect, twists, and turns...decisions that led to a not so glorious end...like I said, I have lost my way" he said to the girl with a chuckle, letting the dirt slip out from between his fingers. Once he was done he would allow his hand to rest at his lap, "So Yumi. when you set sail tomorrow once more, where do you plan to go?" he asked her curiously. |

413 "A sailer whent to sea sea sea to see what she could see see see!" Yumi was a little dissapointed to hear Bunji seem to avoid her joking offer of her and him maybe being part of the same crew one day, but she guessed that was up to him. Afterall she couldn't force the guy to change his mind. What she could do however was get under cover. The clouds above were slowly letting more and more droplets, each bigger than the last, fall down to the forest of the island. Before she got drenched the red head had the common sense to scoot back under her tent, sitting on the clothe she'd brought with her to make sure she slept at least somewhat well. Just as she wiggled comfily into her new spot, a question about her parents caught her ears, earning a delightful chuckle. "Oh my parents were nothing special. My whole family use to be travellers. Up to 10 generations back, not one member of my family was born on land. We were all sea births. Guess it's just in the Tasukai birt to want a life of exploring new lands on the open sea!~"
With the rain slowly starting to come down Yumi was glad she used a strong branch to keep her tent up, otherwise she'd be drenched now. She did however start piling rocks around her tend, making sure no water ran in and soaked her clothes while she slept. For now it was only a light drizzle, but you could never be too careful. As she worked on her defenses, she found it curious that Bun didn't want to name his home, but if it was really such a small place, perhaps she wouldn't have heard of it anyway. With naught but a shrug the thought was gone with the wind and her attention came to the next question.
"Well...I planned to make it to shell town, find the docs, get aboard a ship as a cabin girl maybe. Maybe something better if the right opportunity strikes. I dunno. By now I'd be happy finding an island with a town let alone one with a busy dock." Laying her head back she sighed, hands behind her head ready for the night to draw in, talking in a sleepy tone as her body, filled and fueled, began to shut down. "How's about you...any plans once you find your way?" CODED BY SYLVIE

WORDS 749 TAGS YUMI NOTES small notes | W hen her lips parted to speak his eyes would close, not out of boredom but because he wanted to truly focus on her every word that escaped her parting lips, the girls soft yet youthful tone would ring into his welcoming ears telling him the story of her families heart for adventure. His head would lean back with his chin pointing towards the ceiling of his one time shelter, the sound of the crashing rain around him would be washed out by the girls voice, as she continued on. When she was done, she closed her speech with a question one he planned to address but not before giving her some words of advice; for you see sitting here, and listening he had learned that when it came to experience he had the upper hand. She was no enemy, nor was she hated, and so with this reasoning he felt it necessary if not his duty to bestow some words of wisdom on this young girl that pretty much chased the same dream he had... With his eyes opened he lowered his gaze from the ceiling to focus them upon the sitting girl who hid from the rain, inside of her protective tent. "You are gorgeous" he would say suddenly purposely pausing to give her time to digest his sudden compliment, but this was no mere attempt at him flirting there was something concrete behind his words. "Your honey eyes glow with stunning beauty, only amplified by the cascading red locks of hair that circle your attractive features..." with another pause Bunji held a hand out, surpassing his shelter with his palm up the hand was instantly assaulted by the rain drops becoming wet. "Any man would bend to your will if you used such a tool, any man would give you all that you desire. However, such a route is easy...if you followed it you would be another drop in the rain, time eventually claiming your youth, and your greatest tool taken away..." with yet another pause the shirtless man closed his open hand into a firm fist. His smooth yet deep tone would emerge from his vocals once more, "Yumi Tasukai, your heart beats for adventure, and your eyes seek to gaze upon the greatest wonders of this world. So chase them, even when life throws you into the pits of despair, you claw your way out to emerge a stronger, and more confident woman..."Retrieving the hand which had become a fist under the rain he would rest it at his lap along with the other, "Do not become another drop of rain...become the snowflake out of place in the downpour, the one upon which all will gaze, and remember. Become legendary through your own work, and struggles..." the words he spoke then, were echoes of the very same words that the great pirate had spoken to him when he was young. The irony of it all made him smirk, before he was selfish, now here he sat attempting to help a stranger who would probably shut down his help believing him to be some posh know it all. Whatever the case, Bunji had spoken his piece now he would answer the girls question, knowing that the chilling rain would soon draw a close to their conversation. "....as for where I am headed after this. I cannot say, because I have yet to find myself here. I still lay at the bottom of the pit, looking up to the light knowing that I am not ready to reach it.." the man would know that his cryptic answer was probably unsatisfying but it was in the end the most genuine answer he could give. Reaching for his cloak he threw it over his shoulders allowing its warm embrace to shield him from the cold winds that swept in, sitting Indian style with his eyes closed Bunji would inhale deeply; his powerful chest rising with every breath. "Tasukai" he said suddenly his deep voice breaking the silence once more, reaching for his necklace he would pull it off then toss it over towards the girl allowing the compass to fall into the opening of her tent. "A compass is a tool every pirate must have, simply old it up, and you know where it leads. Take it with you, I can navigate by the winds and sun alone" he said with a chuckle giving the girl a reassuring nod to reinforce her acceptance of the compass. |
