Hair Color: Izumi's straight hair carries a natural shade of violet and reaches down to her waist, while her bangs curtain over her forehead, covering the same in the manner of the typical princess hairstyle. Despite having a rather long and well-tended mane the female admiral can usually be seen wearing her hair open, allowing it to freely be caressed by the breeze without fearing that it might get in her way. A white hairband, which once belonged to her mother, usually decorates her dark hair, holding her bangs in place.

Attire: Instead of cladding her body in some kind of formal suit while wearing her marine coat similar to a cape like most of the vice-admirals and other higher ranked marine officers do, Izumi actually prefers another, more customized attire while being on duty, causing her to further stick out of the marine ranks dominated by men. The mauve topped female usually wraps her athletic, yet feminine frame into an elaborate, innocently ivory blazer with gold lining, and a large collar, which is open to reveal a collared shirt and crimson tie underneath. The cuffs of this jacket originally reach down to the female's wrists, but usually are tucked into a pair of alabaster colored gloves covering her entire hands as well as her forearms. Just like her peers the plum topped Kuja carries her marine coat like a cape, causing the mostly pearly item to trail down to her knees. The female admiral going by the name of Nanahara Izumi began as a poor individual, who had been tortured by her creator. This man, who dared to call himself her father, was an abusive brute who would physically beat on not only his wife but also his sole daughter. However, despite all the bruises and broken bones, her mother would endure the pain and remain loyal to her husband for reasons Izumi never managed to comprehend. Her father even went as far as to sell off almost everything that belonged to his wife including her mother's jewelry and to support his gambling habits. Even though unable to understand how her mother, once a strong and proud member of the Kuja tribe that had left Amazon Lily, the empire located on the island of women, in order to travel the world, could have turned into such a submissive and cowardly being, Izumi always tried her best to support her, hoping that they would one day be capable of escaping the brute's grasp.

Being contsntly abused like this it, however, wasn't long before the mauve topped girl's mother fell ill and eventully died. Officially it was said that her body had been too weak to withstand a common and usually harmless sickness that had befallen her, while Izumi always knew that she just couldn't bear the physical stress that came from living with the man that kept ruining their lives. With her mother gone, the situation only got worse as the drunkard of father now entirely concentrated his aggressions on the innocent child. Izumi had often tried to obtain help from the marines that were stationed nearby, but nothing ever happened. Things changed when her father was arrested after openly beating his daughter to a pulp. Being temporary freed from the monster and having no one left, the indigo topped girl decided to join the ranks of the marines, wishing to change the organization that was supposed to protect the innocent and fight for justice.

Joining the forces of justice at the age of thirteen , the young Kuja kept working hard and as a result quickly rose in the ranks. Seven years passed and the coral topped female had just been promoted to captain, when she returned to Baterilla, a small island located in the South Blue that Izumi called home. Even though despising her father for what he had done to her mother, she had decided to forgive him and therefore went to her old house. Well aware that her father, who had been to prison a few times during her absence, was still living there. Hoping to encounter a purged man, she was deeply upset to realize that the brute hadn't changed one bit, despite having been given so many chances to redeem himself. Seeing his sole child wearing a marine uniform, the man immediately started blaming her for every single mistake he had made. Enraged he even went as far as to draw a knife and attack his offspring. Tears filled her eyes as the purple haired marine engaged him without holding back, realizing that people never changed.

Her father had had countless chances to change his way of life, to attempt to make up for sins; but instad of attempting to make a difference, he had just kept traveling down the path of destruction, not caring whose life he destroyed on the way. Taking her creator's life without the slightest bit of remorse in a situation she would later describe as self-defense and the only possible solution to protect the people from such a brute, the violet topped Kuja didn't receive any punishments as her explanation and point of view found support amongst the marines' 'absolute justice' faction. After further ten years of service, which included not only breathtaking pursuits, but also victorious participation in several larger sea skirmishes with bounty hunters and pirates alike, Izumi received the title of admiral after leading a successful battle against one of the feared Yonkō.

• ⚔ Sōbi [Rose] - Even though never having obtained her own, personal snake due to the fact that she wasn't raised on Amazon Lily, the Island of Women, Izumi actually possesses a large, crimson serpent. Unlike other Kuja pets this one, however, exceeds its owner's height, since it originally belonged to the mauve topped marine's mother, who stood to eight feet and two inches. The animal wears an azure scarf as well as a small version of the standard marine cap and is capable of taking on different shapes, while its huge size prevents the female from efficiently making use of most of them. It therefore either serves as chackle or a greatsword, as its Busoshoku Haki drenched body makes it tougher than steel.
