Attire: Hannelore is most often seen wearing her black jacket with the fur-lined hood had large white star on the chest. Underneath it she wears simple solid color t-shirts and she pairs those with long black athletic pants that allow her to move without restrictions. She'll wear shorts only when it's very hot, but when it's cold the only change to her outfit is a pair of gloves. When working as a member of the Daft Pirates she wears a black ski helmet with a built in visor so only the lower part of her face is left uncovered.
Abnormalities: She has a tattoo on her chest across her lower right ribs. The details beyond that are unknown to all but a select few.

Raised in Doerena Kingdom, Hannelore was the youngest of five sisters and one brother. Every sibling previous to her had walked the path their parents had wished them to follow: her brother, the oldest, enlisted in the marines as soon as he could and her sisters were grooming themselves for an ideal marriage or upstanding job in the government. Even at a very young age, Hannelore wanted nothing to do with such things, and swiftly became the black sheep of the family. She would tolerate the demands from her parents to act more reasonably and then retaliate with rebellions. They were small at first but soon she had to increase the severity just to grab their attention.

When Hannelore was eight years old she stole a fruit that was going to be auctioned off. After eating the fruit as a victory snack, she found herself able to shift into the form of a serval. The neko neko no mi was a strange ability to get used to, but she adored her newfound abilities to jump further, run faster, and hear clearer. Having all the subtlety one could expect from an eight year old, which is to say none, Hannelore was quickly caught by the man that had planned to auction off the fruit. He opted to auction her off instead but was thwarted by her brother, Liam, who arrested him for being part of the slave trade.

Though he wasn't around all that much, Liam quickly took a shining to his youngest sister. He began teaching her how to direct her energy and her desire to rebel into physical exertion. Under him she learned how to use her punches and kicks as weapons, and she began incorporating her hybrid serval form into her fighting style.

At the age of seventeen she was unable to take more of her parents' constant disapproval and nagging. She left for the other side of the island and took up a job waiting tables at a resort. Though she disliked the work, she loved her freedom enough to keep at it. Two years passed this way and then she got word from her mother that Liam had been court martialed and executed by the marines. Furious by this news, she frantically searched for more information about her brother's death but could find no more that had been released to the public.

In a surge of anger and grief her rebellious side became loose again. Since she didn't have her parents around to rebel against she decided to rebel against society in general, and vowed to join the first pirate crew she could. The Daft Pirates took her in, and she rose in the ranks through determination (and a bit of conniving) until she was the first mate. She defends her current position and captain with all her abilities, steadfast in her desire to keep her freedom.

• ▶ Catnap - No matter the conditions, the situation, the time of day, or any other factor, Hannelore is able to fall asleep whenever she wants given a few minutes. While not useful in battle, it's still something she's rather proud of.
